Well my Anny is sat in dock full of cabins from the last "bug" where you were taking off some somewhere, flying to a POI in the same system then going back to the station again, no doubt there will be others...


I'm just going to buy an exploration ship and fly around until the next exploit, Then hoping that selling the date will help get allied whenever the next one comes up.

Think I may just turn left at the next star and see where I get to.


With that being said. Do you lose you exp data if you die. I could head out as far as I could and if i need to get back to wholer station quick I could die and start with free sidey..

On the other side, been away on holiday during the update.... So aside from the inclusion of Thargoids and limited amount of missile racks do you have to actually wing up to kill them and get the goodies ?

Their ships regenerate so the theory is, last time I looked, that a single player currently just can not do enough damage to overwhelm the rate at which the Thargoid heals itself.
 
The AX missiles took a horrendous nerf in the patch as well. The CG for the multis will hopefully give us more firepower to wield
 
Every time I have tried ED I've always had a sporadic hitching issue. For example leaving a space station and then strafing around its exterior will see smooth frames with momentary stuttering every now and then. Has this ever been fixed? I experienced it on 3 different rigs including several months ago on my latest rig with an i7700k and 1080Ti. I tried all the usual things like borderless window, fullscreen, lowest settings, pre max frames, etc etc. I refuse to play without vsync so it could well have been a vsync related issue. The 10 hours or so I have on my steam account play time has only ever been testing it over the years with different builds and always had the issue. It felt like the game had some weird frame pacing issue.

So has this been resolved or is there some golden setting I overlooked? Last time I reinstalled and tried it for the umpteenth time was March 17.

I have noticed a marked improvement with graphics, frame time and hitching. In fact other the last few days since I have been playing again I have not noticed any issues at all. Which is a first for ED for me.
 
Does ED prefer AMD or NVidia?
I've got an R9-270x and a GTX670, the 670 is a bit faster on paper but cant find any ED benchies, oly really asking as the GTX has coil whine....

I've got a test rig at work that we cant use, thats got an 11Gb GTX1080ti Turbo in it I might borrow for the weekend :D

I've used a 970 and rx480 and never had performance problems with either. Obviously the 480 performs better though, especially with the terrain.

I had stutter on my RX480 when coming out of supercruise at a station but I upgraded to GTX1080 a few months back and though it still happens on occasion with the 1080 it is now hardly noticeable when it does. ED Horizons uses DirectX 11, I believe, so it should perform mostly about the same on AMD & Nvidia.

Hmm I don't get that, it's all smooth for me.

And yea it's dx11. There was an OpenGL client for macs, but since Apple stopped updating OpenGL on their OS it got abandoned and no one can be arsed to support apple's own API (metal), because it's ****. Which is why there is no mac version of horizons.
 
Anyone else having update problems going through oculus?
Steam updated it's version no problem but I like to use the oculus version because it runs a lot better on the rift.
 
Tomorrow if we find out we are getting gas giant fly throughs in season 3 I'm committing mass genocide here (got my name on it)… :)

Its time put Elite away till 3.0

The 2.4 update and the general Thyroid (yes i know) implementation is all just a little bit meh.
 
I'm back on the PC version now, after moving on the from the xbox one. I get weird stuttering that goes after a minute then runs fine. Currently seeing what the Cobra IV has to offer.
