There are a few things to note:
1.you will need a hotas (something like the tflight x will set you back about £30 and is fine)
2. It has a fairly steep learning curve while you get to grips with the controls and how the galaxy works, but then it's fine.
3. It's a great VR game as you can spend a lot of time tooling around and generally doing whatever you like. It is a really great VR experience and motion sickness is very minor (although you might find driving SRVs on bumpy planet surfaces a bit intense at first).
4. Yes, if you're all about he end game, it gets a bit grindy. If you want a cool space to spend time in VR, then you won't be grinding, you'll just be flying about doing stuff. Generally you'll be getting credits for new ships though to keep you motivated.
In short, yes it's worth getting if you want a game to spend a couple hours a night playing in VR without the effort of jumping around swinging your arms about (not always a bad thing, but sometimes you've had a long day at work and would rather explore the galaxy from your chair).
