Even a cheap joystick will help loads, or the 360 pad as mentioned. I use an old Logitech Attack 3 joystick and it really helps. I use Kab for lateral thrust and up/down as well as throttle. Pretty much everything else is on the stick.

Any links to suitable Budget-ish joysticks? Can't justify spending £160+ on the proper ones OCUK are advertising, nomatter how much I want to buy it lol.

its dead easy to justify £160. Start trying to justify the Warthog. And then settle for the £160 one

or buy a hotasx

Nice little find tonight, two Earth like words in orbit of each other :)

That is a great find mate. Not quite as good, but just found an Ammonia world with volcanism (water geysers). That has got to be fun in the SRV once the planetary landings are in. :D

I've put on 3 multi cannons 1 Gimbled on top and 2 turrets underneath and a turreted beam laser.

THe beam laser can fire all the time with a spot or two in WEP. I only struggle against 3 or more fighter now. Sidewinders are gone in about 20secs..

I like the turrets as they will still hit the target after he's out of view or out maneuvering me. If he stays higher I just flip over when his shields are down and the 2 multi's take care of him

Ah cheers. ED Shipyard, good idea.

So whats the next step up from the Vulture?

I would say Clipper, Fer De Lance or the Python. The first two are fast, and the FDL has better shields by far but the Clipper is the 2nd fastest ship in the game if you have to 'tactically withdraw'. The Python is a bit more lumbersome but the firepower and power available for shield cells makes it a great offensive/tank ship.

Clipper is the cheapest but you will need a high rank with the Empire (Baron iirc). The Fer De Lance is cheap to outfit compared to the Python, and has a huge hardpoint (Class 4). However there is not a great selection of Class 4 weapons right now. The gimballed C4 canon can be brutal but you do have to get in close.

Has this game improved any in the past 6 months or so?

Got it when it came out and was immediately hooked on the rather awesome arcade flight mechanics but grew bored of the limitations of the game, and the way that the devs ensured pVp was an unfeasible option whilst grinding trade routes out was well rewarded?

So is Elite Dangerous still boring as hell, or have the finally shaped a good MMO game out of a decent arcade flight sim?

Same here, bought around 6 months ago played for a few months and got bored :(

I'm thinking of finally getting this game :)

Downloaded the combat training demo just to make sure my PC can run it & it seems so much fun (currently using xbox 360 controller)

Has anyone tried the CQC team deathmatch mode?

I think it would be really good to jump into for PVP

edit: seems like it's only on xbox one atm? :(

Played it for about a month, but solid, before I realised it was nothing but an empty grindfest where the devs had completely failed to inject any kind of meaningful interaction amongst other CMDRs or with the AI itself....

Station Mission....Go find some Black Box in some random sector....(yeah..rrrright!)

...but I could imagine the game being good if it had the right sort of content.
