I've presently got three ships, i.e. Cobra for smuggling, which is how I tend to start playing my sessions, collecting Pirate kill missions whilst I transport goods. Then go grab my Viper for some combat. Also ended up with a hauler with zero cargo space, but a couple of massive fuel tanks, that I can use as a VERY cheap taxi.
 
I swapped my Vulture out for an Eagle because in a fit of stupidity I got blown up while AFK, then didnt take the insurance but started back out in a Siddey lol...

Working my way back up now...

How on earth did you end up back in a sidey? The vulture is worth several million, swapping to an eagle must have left you with a substantial balance with which you should be able to afford something more than a sidewinder?

Ref powerplay.
Go into the left screen, then navigation. Bottom left is the powers map. Check that out and join one of the 10 groups. After that, you'll need to MOVE to their zone, so I hope you have a ship with good jump range. Took me 19 jumps to get there.
You then get additional mission options and there's some fairly easy ways to make more cash.

I have been hammering the powerplay option for a couple of days and hammering my credits as well. Not sure it is the best way to go but takes too long waiting 30 mins to get more tokens. I will get to 10,000 merits and see how that works out.

Nope, I got blown up, was mid conversation so didn't do my insurance buy out to get me back where I was, clicked the wrong thing and ended up without an insurance claim and back at the start point with whatever money I had at the time lol...
Had enough to buy and Eagle and kit it out though and now back to hunting red's to kill...
 
Any changes in terms of is it easier to make money bounty hunting? Last time they took out Anacondas from the mining area, now not so easy making decent amount of credits.

As much as I like the game, it still feels empty and does not encourage me to grind to get credit. Wish it was more like freelancer :(

I understand the empty bit but the new CQC is fantastic and well worth a look. Powerplay is a bit of a strange one and I need to spend a bit more time on it but it is pretty much collect from A and take to B and repeat.

I didn't play for a couple of months and was glad to get back on it and I have lost a lot of hours, so can't be that bad :)

MP only. It needs some work but for the first beta release, it worked really well. I am more of a solo player in truth but it is seperate from your main game, so won't affect your ship etc. You get a few CC's but not worth it for that.

Now get the damned servers up.... Bored now :D

Same for me but give it a try, you might be surprised. I did a review of it if you want to see what is what on the previous page (and trust me, I am bad). I did play several rounds before I got the perfect game (and oddly, the one I used for the review :p)
 
They've broken the galactic map! I can't target anything now. As an explorer, this is a problem :(

Why do they have to go and "fix" things which aren't broken? :confused:
 
I don't know if I just got lucky or not, but I decided to do some bouty hunting and there were Anacondas there plus other big ships, plus for some reason it felt like more fun. Nice update.

Next to try the CQC.

Anyone know when the new expansion is coming out? Will they be charging silly moneys for it I wonder? I hope it brings a lot to the game to give it new life, maybe a story campaign or something would be nice :)
 
FA off in CQC isn't going to make that much of a difference, came third in my first match with FA on at all times.

Hazardous res site was nice, I resisted tackling the wing of an Anaconda and two Pythons in my Vulture though :eek:

Horizons expansion is slated for sometime around xmas (holiday season is the official statement) and is £39.99 (no play until it is released even though it contains the base game too) if you don't own Elite, £29.99 (currently has a £10 discount) if you do.
