I remember doing the same and scratching my head on what I was doing wrong. I basically did missions for the bigger factions and I finally ranked up. Don't expect it to happen at once and I only accepted safe missions as well.
That Vid is impressive Tracertong. I imagine the reality is a lot longer than an hour but still a good way of credit earning.

A really good watch and a shame they had video issues but the planets look epic and looking forward to Horizons.

Yup and a 10AU² surface area is pretty impressive and immense, I love the fact they've actually gone to the trouble to model the tectonic plates.
is this free to play at all, only ask as been sitting in the wings! waiting for Horizions so I casn get it all together, but getting really frustrated now as want to play!havent done any sim stuff since IL2 and am a sifi nut, so this really appeals to me, just dont want to fork out twice
oh and thanks to all the posters, some really informative stuff coming out on here

It's not free to play. You have to buy the base game and season expansions (first one is out later this year)
yeah sorry was not thinking it was free, just wondered if there was a beta version etc,. thats ok will just have to wait until December and then get both for £39.00
I quickly skimmed over that live stream last night afterwards on YouTube, am i right in hearing there are no planets with atmospheres until 2.0, just rocky/ice worlds for now? Not that I'm complaining, just didn't have time to watch it all.

There are planets with atmospheres you just won't be able to land on them. Not sure if we'll even have them as landable during the whole of horizons.
Should have bought it last week when it was £17.99 and pre-ordered Horizons for £29.99
No planetary landings until 2.0 full stop, planets with atmospheres have not been dated and have certainly not been listed as coming any time during the Horizons season, having seen what they've done with airless rocky worlds I can understand why, the amount of work involved is mind boggling.

From what has been said it looks like 1.5 and 2.0 are coming at the same time which is confusing, 1.5 for everybody vanilla elite and horizons owners with horizons launching at the same time.
