I'm not an expert (seeing as how I spend basically all of my time out exploring and all) but I believe that you can't pay it off, you have to wait it out.

Haven't played for months.
Ducked back in and found a new High Intensity Res site and had a most enjoyable 60 minutes. Docked back and found I had made well over 1,500,000 credits - WOW.
When did bounty hunting get so profitable ?
Looks like joining Zachary will make bounty hunting a easy credit source.

Forget where I was but I've had my first encounter with a capitol ship. (Probably a bit "old hat" by now). Was quite alarmed at first but worked out which side it was on (conflict zone it appeared in 
) and joined it then spent time trying to tag everything on the other side flying near it before it got battered by the ships batteries.
Made a couple of million creds in next to no time
(had to keep flying to a spaceport to reload as I was stuck with multicannons).
The computer gives a "warning: Capitol ship warp signature detected!".
It pulled my rating up to "competent" so i was able to get some better jobs at stations. Snowballed nicely and I've fully pimped my cobra

Yup, you have to wait on bounties expiring before you can pay the legacy fine.
Dup, Cobra would be my advice too, tbh has linked a pretty nicely set up one

Started power play yesterday. Did some trucking missions to get to 100 merits... Went to a expanding system, joined the security team at an operation site, now have 980 merits.... Seems a bit easy to get to level 3 IMO, was insane though. Might post a few mins of footage as it looked epic. Will finish the job off later and get level 4... Then wait for it to kick in so I can earn some money finally.
The fine still needs to be paid off. I had quite a few and got killed which cleared them from the transaction tabs but I still get scanned by NPC's and they start shooting. I should have written them down as well but forgot, so no idea where the fines need to be paid. System Authority don't care though.
Nope nothing was in the contacts menu and I have been scanned several times and still didn't pop up!

There is something a foot with the fines (again) I had a 15K bounty in Robigo with a 7 day lease. I was destroyed (outside the system) and it went dormant. When that expired last week there was no legacy fine to pay.... it had disappeared from my UI.
However, there is a Community Goal completed notice in my transaction UI that will not delete. Other notices have deleted once completed....... So not sure what to do with that.....

Come back to this after a few months off and trying mining again. I like the way its implemented and actually enjoy mining now. Not making monies as quickly as i used to when trading, but its fun nevertheless
When I'm in "traveling" mode rather than "exploring" I generally just zoom the galaxy map out a decent amount, find a star roughly 1k Ly away in the direction I'm traveling in and commence jumping. I'm not sure if there's a better way to do it, if there is then I've not found it

sort of doing that way now but smaller jumps say up to 500 ly,s but just seems to plot round the houses ways even tho i have picked fastest route
That legacy fines appear only in contacts menu in station? Absolutely, that they still exist after being destroyed? Not in the least
