*** The Official Elite: Dangerous Thread ***

I have the and driver issue where it just can't cope with players being in the system when cruising - seems to be windows 10 only as it was fine on 7

Also occasionally crashes on exit but I only notice it when trying to start again and the exe is still running

Thought I would see what performance was like at 1440P and with performance completely maxed out (including SuperSampling X2.

Sorry for the mike volume but not set-up for ShadowPlay yet.

No issues for me either. Have you verified the game cache (steam Version)?

I don't use the Steam version. Problem has only developed with Windows 10 ... didn't have it prior to that, having taken a holiday away from the game for several months. Looking on the FD forum, looks like others have the same issue but no comment on a fix.

You can verify the game files from the FD launcher, I think it's in the tools menu. Is it installed in the default directory?

Yeah mine drops to 35-40 with SS x2, I'm on 3440x1440 though - barely notice the iq difference in general play though so I leave it on 1 :p

Ok, problem solved. It would appear that it was a Saitek X55 driver issue with Windows 10. Just made it look as if it was Elite Dangerous that was to blame because that was the only program I'm using the joystick with at the moment. Some beta drivers for Windows 10 have solved the problem ( for now .. )

Was doing a Community Goal in Xelabara, along with dozens of other players. So many, it was a struggle just to find a single NPC!

Unfortunately, there was a Wing of PowerPlayers all in Fer-de-Lances who were pouncing upon any smaller ship not of their faction. Being in a Wing with NavLock they all drop in when one interdicts you, meaning you're suddenly faced with four FdLs all opening up on you at once.
They nabbed my little Vulture four or five times and on each occasion I'd barely taken control of my ship before I was just blatted to oblivion. Had to switch to Private Group in the end, as I was losing so much money in rebuys... lost 6.5mil, made only 1.3mil.

:(

Looks like Horizons Beta is not going to be tomorrow as problems they had from last week have put them back a little. Good that they been upfront and I personally would much rather wait for a better finish.

So a few more days :)

pretty excited about the new horizons, but one thing that is nagging me, is that we haven't seen what we will be able to do on the surface apart from driving around...

I do think FD are doing a great job, and pulling out all the stops to deliver.

thats because thats all your going to do for now lol.

will take them the next 12 months to put everything into it that they have said is going to be.

There still working on ship count they said would be in the main release.

So long as combat is decent frames and also Supercruise, I am happy with low around the stations, especially as I am lazy and use a docking computer :D

Dont we all lol. Especially in the larger ships its easier and hassle free.

Plus the classical music.

I loved the docking music in the original and chuffed they added it to Dangerous.

I do hope they have Horizons out this week but rather they have it sorted and running well before launch.

I have followed since backing the KS as I was an original Ekite player back in the day in the 80’s. I thin the playing area is so vast they have to get a way for players to make content. Get enough resources to an area and get things built like bases on the surface. I would like to sea just for an example a pirate base built by players with controls to keep it right. Players should be able to band together and say right that thirty of us all in agreement to build a small base to service our group. The space around said base could get known as dangerous because of a certain group operating. The base could hold stock and supplies and stolen pirated stuff that would need defended and hidden. Another group say more law abiding could force them out of an area etc. Or a more lawless group could capture or steal from the base if successful. The group running the base could open it up to Traders/ Explorers for a small fee.
