8-10 battle ships :( i was shield tanking and amour tanking, webed and srambled lasted all of 10 seconds. :/ was a little nifed. Luckaly i had been doing abit of mining and have most of the minerals i need now to build a typhoon.

"Looks like a corp event that, if they have bounties. " - Unfortunatly there are no bountys on any of them :(( were i died was bassicaly were i warped in from the acceleration gate :(

"That looks incredible for a lvl 3 mission corpse" - if i had been able to get there faster i would have just missed them but it seems a bit of a harsh mission that.

anyway i hope LC brought some smiles to your faces :D
 
That's 'cos you were too late (note the red text about doing it in under an hour) under an hour is piece of cake, and you don't have much to kill (not pest territory) basically as soon as you get it, crash in, blow the tower, retrieve the chip and LEG IT!!!

Edit just seen you knew about that part :) well kudos for attempting it, you could have done with my osprey transferring 576 shield HP every 5 seconds, but even then that might not have been enough :)

Yep i read that i knew that. i had some problems with the 3 caldari cruisers in the stage before that as they continued to obit me at around 30km outsite of my most effective range

2x1400m 70km
1xrocket with defenders

I had actually done the mission before but had trouble this time round :rolleyes: stupid LC

Dj_Jestar what would you have suggested?
Tempist isn't/wasn't that great at either shield or amour tanking from what i could tell.

Edit : thinking about it i think tempist has an extra 1 or 2 low slots so its prob better as an amour tanker. But thats by the by.

I've never flown nor equipped a tempest in my life, but I'd just like to point out that you should never tank both shields and armor. You're much better off focussing on one or the other categories and then utilising the free slots to improve other aspects of your ship, like tracking, locking, jamming, etc. etc.

Feek near despaired when I mentioned my original Dominix setup, and I think the entire STK at the time had a "What the..." moment when they saw my bizarre shield and armor tanked Ferox :D
Although ultimately it didn't seem like it was a strong tank, the extra damage it was doing once they'd overhauled my setup meant it really didn't need it. Plus most of the cap energy was purely set aside for just one aspect of tanking, allowing me to run it for much longer and/or use higher power components to achieve it.
 
It does not really matter, you could not tank that in any solo ship really. Prehaps if you had a HAC with lots of friends remote armour repairing you. :p
 
C'mon Billy, the Armourdillo would give it a fair go :p

Corpse, what you want is a decent armour tank with a couple of LAR2, some t2 hardeners and some cap power relays (to bolster your cap)... You may well need to use the mid slots for CR2 as well...

I am your Master of the Tempest.
I suppose you want it to do Level 4 Missions, I have had a lot of Success with these Set-up.
But first.
I do not ever use the Tempest without a armour tank in any level 4 Missions, i like the way armor tanking goes over Shield
Any way to the set-ups.
You will need Adv Weapon Upgrades to Level IV for some of these setp-up.

Short range.
6 x 800mm AC's, 2 x Large Smart bombs(Rat Dependant) or 2 Assualt Launchers.
5 x Cap Recharger II's
2 x Larger Armour Reppers, 3 x Armor Hardeners (Rat Dependant) 1 x Capacitor Power Relay.

Long range.
5 x 1400mm Howiez, 3 x Assault Launchers.
5 x Cap Rechargers II's
1 x Larger Amour Repper, 5 x Armor Hardeners (Rat Dependant)

Ammo, Drone are also dependant on what rats you are up against.
I use Tech II in all my Modules, but you probably cant use them coz of skill requirements, but get the best named modules your wallet can buy.

I too prefered armor tanking on my pest, though I used 720mm's instead of 800mm's - but have seen the below spec for shield tanking:

hi: 6x1400mm, 2 launchers of choice
mids: 1 xl booster, 1 boost amp, 3 shield hards of choice.
lows: PDS2's.

I'll be getting a Typhoon soon. wise i save the minerals and isk for another tempist among other things. i can run 6 hardners and one t2 large amrour repair for a long time if i need to.

bigsteve I have ADV weapon upgrade to lvl3 of the tomp of my head and the only thing i wont be able to use T2 wise is the weapons i think, as i'll be starting to train Proj specialisation soon.
On test i had a similar setup to your short range only i changed out the "2 x Large Smart bombs(Rat Dependant) or 2 Assualt Launchers." for cruise missiles to bait them closer to me. Though again i think i was sheild and amour tanking....

my thinking behind both sheild and amour tanking is that if for any reason i'm unable to warp out i should be able to amour tank them long enough to frie them.

Laz had his Typhoon raped by a level 4 angel extrav, not sure how good they are solo. Admittedly he was on his own without fire support for longer than he should be because I got trapped in the acceleration gate behind him and he agrroed a whole stage for some reason. :p
 
The Short Range Armor Tank set-up will not be able to hold both Repper indeffinatly, but it should last at least 5 mins before your can runs out.

The Long range Armor Tank can keep it up though,
this set-up id new as i had to use it for the 'Enemies Abound' 5 Story line mission. I got to 4 of 5 when a bug killed my Tempest. (My tank couldnt hold the damage being done so i warped out to a gate, but i was still being fired apon and taking damage from the rats @ 53AU away, pertitioned, and still waiting a reply).

for a Typhoon, in lvl 4, i used
4 x 720mm II, 4 x Cruise Launchers
4 x CR II's
2 x LAR's 3 x Harderner's 2 x CPR's

Oh LC, I take it for the Mission screen shots you are doing Minmatar missions as the Story line Mission is against Amarr.

Laz has a dendancy to aggro the whole spawn occationally.

lol Just admit you wanted to hear Laz beg for help and play the role of the hero :D ;) On test i found the Typhoon to be a good little ship managed to do a lvl5 complex first stage with out to much hassal.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, shield and Armour tank on the same ship,

its like this.
Doing both half heartedly is not as good a doing one a lot better.

I know that we had to have a 1 hour break while he bought 1400s and I went to scrounge some repairers after and it took until 2AM to finish the damn mission. :p

Actually I warped in to find him at 10% armour and just left him to burn. :D
