actually what steve says isnt correct.

the change that was made in regard to stacking was only with dmg mods, that now the 4th has only a little effect, and a 5th doesnt have any effect worth bothering with.

as for targeting range, max is 249, there is no way to lock at 255 with or without range boosting remotely. if you go onto the eve site and check out the item database, go and look at the page for the scorpion, afaik it is the only one that actually makes a point of stating "maximum theoretical targeting range = 249k"

while it may be true to have an optimal or opt + falloff, you cant hit further than 249, because you cant hit what you cant lock :P

Surely you can lock past 249km with a for example the Caldari combat recon ship the Rook, which has a base locking range before skills of 150km as with long range targeting 5 and a t2 sensor booster locking range would already be over 249km ...thats just 1 sensorbooster II :)

I've not tried this so I have no idea if it is true, but I do know a Rook with said skills and sbII 'should' lock further than 249km.

I am 1000% correct this happens with AAAALLLL modules.
Try this one and see.

put 1 XL shield Boosters and 4 Sheild Boost Amps on a Scorp,
then start putting Capacitor Power Relays on, the Penalty of the CPR's has no effect on the Shelid Boost amount. :)

Yes 'should', but can't. It's a game limit. Read what we've posted, no ship can lock past 249 km no matter whether they have the modules fitted to facilitate it.

I did an experiment yesterday.

I was in Torrinos, right up in the North. I set my autopilot to Ascenia and configured it to 'prefer less safe'. 112 jumps.

Undocked in a shuttle. Flew outside the docking range and selected dock, quickly followed by eject and watched the shuttle dock leaving me in my pod.

Hit the autopilot button.

Eight jumps through secure empire space and then I hit empire 0.4 with no instas.

75 jumps later I come out of 0.1-0.4 space. Lots of systems were occupied, often with many people. Not many gates had people on, and all the way through that lot only one person locked me and he was in a barge!

So much for 0.1-0.4 being filled with badass pie rats :) I then jumped into a Thorax and flew the final stage through HED-GP and down to Ascenia, only pausing to engage an arbitrator on the way.

Ahh looks like you missed the 20 man pirate camp in aunenen (sp) and ebils in saranen etc. :P

By starting in torrinos you have automatically avoided one of hotspots in the north.
Generally speaking the gateway to 0.0 low sec systems are usually hostile, while the little pockets of low sec in empire arent.

As far as i know, No it isnt,

as it isnt anything like the Wasp I/II issue where a CCP typo error placed a decimal point in the wrong place.

Its a side effect of the way current Module Stacks are calculated,
All good effects first, then bad. and if the good effects take up all the positive benifits places, the Bad effects are left out in the cold. LOL!!!!!

Why you think BE Sceamed, & Screamed, & Screeamed, & Screamed about the Dampeners and Tracking Disptupters Fix. No have we seen them about lately????

gah gallente cruiser lvl 5 :( hate uber long skill learn times, but it'll be worth it for my oneiros :) but then I have to learn caldari cruiser lvl 5 for the basilisk (althohg for some reason the exequror hulls feels and looks tougher than that of the osprey
 
I just discovered the sheer pleasure of ripping apart lvl 3 missions with a Dual 650mm Scout autocannon tempest with dual webifier. The thing is pure evil anbd obliterates anything that makes the mistake and closes inside of 20km :) Had a 310 wrecking hit with Fusion on Hull with a standard tech 1 dual 650 earlier, but just forked out about 22 mill for a set of scouts for more pwnage potential :D

And the sound, dont get me started, i was drooling over the 1400 sound effects but OMFG the autocannons are just overwhelming, bang bang bang bang bang, non stop till the target explodes :D 3.12x damage mod, 2.94s RoF, the thing chews through ammo like crazy though.

Bigsteve, i certainly see why you love large projectiles so much. Im the latest addict :D Starting to train the long train for tech 2's now :D

2006.01.30 10:35:23 combat Your Dual 650mm 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I perfectly strikes Radiating Telescope, wrecking for 412.1 damage.

Meh, one person in HED-GP as I went through. ONE person. Sheesh, I used to spend hours in there during the war with Curse.

Sure, but if im not mistaken HED is not 0.4>0.1 Its like comparing EC to Aunenen.
 
I am not sure on the sustainablility, But with the 3 Shield Boost Amps, and a XL C5-L Shield booster has a boost amount of ~880(may be more with 4 Amps) every 4 Secs, iirc,

Just need to know how mant CPR's are needed to keep the cap recharging, any volenteers?

no idea but grab me when I have my logistics ship :p I should be able to provide about 800 extra shield hp's per 5 seconds as well :p tis what I'll be doing for the corp, my Oneiros with Tech 2 tracking links and 2 medium T2 2 small T2 remote repairers doing near 1400 repair every 13.2 seconds.

Plus I'll be shield transfering to dym once he gets his HAC :p

have already helped out Aquemini, he aggroed the entire first stage of angels extrav lvl 4 :p with my exequror runnin 2 medium arup and 2 small arup ( i couldt run them all indefinitely, I had to burst one medium and one small and him with 1 Large T2 repper we held out for ages he hld around 70% armour, I was thoroughly impressed with the basic logisitcs ships (in this case the Tier 1 cruisers)

With the logistics ships themselves I cannot wait!!! :)

Sure but why train for a logistics cruiser when you can just use a scorp loaded with large sheild, cap and armour transfers? :P With a near 80 second cap recharge it can ensure any ship can survive any mission or bonus stage.
Worked a treat for us in missions, especially bonus stages of LVL4's before we moved to 0.0. Sure the logistics cruisers get nice bonuses, but a scorp will do jsut as good a job, but for 50% of the training. :confused:
