Even including clone cost losses?

yup even with 2 clones at approx 4m sp. Either way the war dec is pretty sweet, i dont think ive ever had so much fun!

The crazy thing is how it all started, we had a member clearout our advanced hanger, leave and then pay for the mercs to attack us. Pretty funny considering he probably only got away with about 100m worth of stuff and i would imagine it cost him around that figure to hire the mercs, considering the amount of hardware they had out last night. Even if i get podded everynight this week, i will ahve had a damn lot of fun, kinda makes all those months training worthwhile :D

Hehe, cool, do you think you can batter the mercs head on?

well not wanting to give up too much intel, quite frankly yes, but were having far too much fun doing Rebel Alliance esque hit and fade attacks :) We have some extremely experienced PvP players from various mec corps in the past that have joined us because they like the way we operate. If they can be arsed to organise a 25 man fleet of battleships to follow around a bunch of kestrels, fair enough, they probably used more ammo than the cost of our kessies :P

Hey guys i just started this as a Gallente. I'm doing the agent missions you get after you blow up the drone the delivery ones. I have ammassed about 280,000 ISK and want to buy a new ship as the starting one seems to be awfully slow and useless. What would you recommend?

Incursus, without doubt. Mine served me well untill I made the mistake of using a Catalyst destroyer (x9!). Went back to the incursus untill I could get into cruisers, and I'm still using one now for the smaller courier missions. If you set it up with either 125mm or 150mm railguns, and use Tungsten or Iridium charges, you'll have enough range (25Kish) and speed, especially coupled with an afterburner, to stay ahead of most things you'll encounter in level 1 or 2 missions.

/steps back to be shot at by the more experienced players :)

Catalyst with a rack of t2 125mm rails absolutely rocks. Show me an intie and I'll show you a killmail ;)

ASCN has a bunch of nutcases flying around in frigates too.. I think they're DDC blokes? Not really aiming to do tons of damage, just keeping the cost ratio in their favour.
Towards the end of the Xetic vs [5] war one of the few Xetic corps (I think it was PIH?) that actually fought at all did an experiment utilising just t1 frigate fleets, swarming through [5] space. In the space of a week they did an estimated 4bn isk worth of damage, suffering something paltry like 50 or 60m isk worth themselves. Was remarkable stuff... if only it had inspired the carebears to fight :( :D

Fair enough. I'd been ingame a week or so when I got my first Cat, so it's a setup issue, rather than the Cat just being a crap ship. I didn't / don't have access to T2 stuff, so that probably explains my lack of success with it.

Don't worry, you'll probably always face setup issues with ships, generally its good to ask around for typical tried and tested setups, often there are quirks that work better that you'd never think of.

Feek can probably remember my first attempt at a Dominix setup.. I had entirely the wrong end of the stick.

My Ferox setup wasn't that fantastic either until a few poeple chipped in with a few suggestions and I suddenly went from a passable shield tank to a stonking one. Ferox is a kick-arse battlecruiser, almost as good at soaking up damage as a BS.

Ahh cool, just got a little paranoid how you knew about D-F-C :P :D

Can you guys do me a favour and put Thaad Gorthag on your carp list? he stole a couple of hundred mills worth of equipment from us and then hired these mercs :P

I'm working on a level 3 mission Thorax setup at the moment. I've got to train Hull upgrades to level 4 to use armor hardeners, but I'm thinking along the lines of:

high 150 or 200mm rails,
medium medium shield extender or booster
Webifier
afterburner
Low 1600mm steel/nanofibre/titanium plate
Rat specific hardener x2
medium armor repair

which is a similar setup to one posted a couple of pages back. The other option I've got is a brutix, but I don't want to blow 29m on a ship only to find it's not as effective as a thorax.

Options and opinions please?

I'd avoid the split between shield/armour tanking and replace that shield module with a cap battery or recharger...

other than that it looks passable :)

[edit]don't personnally fly a t-rax though...[/edit]
