The *Official* Eve Online Thread

wow i need me one of those topless megathrons, sound pimping (sorry couldnt resist)

And to Garp, id like to think that we still have good relations, my earlier comments were kinda out of hand, i almost treated it as if ocuk were my corp, which is obviously wrong. :P I hope we can build upon these relations into something more tangible in the future. And if it really does get too hot for you guys as a result of these a-holes war deccing you, please le us know and il see what we can do to dispatch a wing of pvpers for your assistance.

Muffin, i appriciate the "support" you have shown for my earlier posts, but tbh the posts were a little over the top, and ocuk is free to run as they desire. Everyone has to play the game for fun, if it isnt fun there isnt a point, and obviously other peoples perception of fun is different for everyone.

Definately. I've got me a megathron sitting in my hanger in ascenia somewhere.. but I doubt it'll be very obliging :(

Still, Feek did come up with the best alternative:

Thats him parked outside the first outpost in Eve, which comes complete with a hooker joint (IIRC we even had to supply hookers to be able to actually construct the building! Finally a use for those pointless seeming missions pickups)

You didn't see my posts back in march was it? Anyway, there was an .. ah.. incident with Slackers Industries, which resulted in them wardec'ing OcUK corp. Three of us ex-ocukers came flying back to isikano to see if we could help at all, and I basically did a whole "We will not going quietly in the night" speech to persuade them to fight :D Not long afterwards OcUK lost 3/4 of its population in the direction of STK for some odd reason. The phrase "Yaaaarrrrr" kept cropping up, more disturbingly.

And Is a place garanteed in Squirrel Of War or STK-S? No. So that isn't a valuble point.

Are they garanteed a place in Squriels of War or STK Scietific when they first start the game?

The answer is no, certainly the relationship with STK-S and OcUK is a strong one so it probably stands them in good stead for joining STK-S if they have been well behaved in OcUK.

Ahh the infamous outpost ehh. Id love to take a look at that, but our current home in the north and our IORN/G/IMP pass would probably get us ganked pretty quick down there :P.

What is your (STK) orientation with BoB etc, and where do you guys stand on pirates?

I think most of STK are straight, a few may be Bi though...

And of course, the only place to stand on pirates is either the face or (if you're feeling vindictive) the groin ;)

Happy Sailing!

lmao cheeky get. :P

agreed on the pirate front, D-F-C is stricktly anti pirate, although some good friends of mine have questionable pasts.

Speaking of orientation whoose the only gay in the outpost? :p

Please see my previous post which answers your question in detail.

So you agree with that OcUK avoids the primary role of the game, but still claims that it introduces people to the world of EVE?

I'm not questioning how they run thier corp but how they advertise the corp.

Shall we change the subject, again Muffin?

You've gone from stating OcUK are not an Introductory corp, to they are an introductory corp, but only for some apsects of the game..

You could say that if your very pendantic by my wording, but I'm not. I state that you cannot advertise a corp that will introduce you to the game which avoids the primary aim of the game.

What will you be saying next??
"OcUK only introduce you to some of the game, but because they don't give you a guided tour of every system in the EVE Galaxy in a Topless Megathron, it is not a proper introduction?"

How about you make add useful comments, your wasting the bandwidth.

This is ridiculous, someone war decs ocuk corp and everyone starts moaning cause some members dont want to fight, so? If i didnt want to pvp in EVE i would have never joined Murder of Crows a while back, ok it was a bad move cause i was the only one online most of the time so i was permacamped. PvP isnt what every single person in eve wants, whether a corp wants to fight but the CEO dont, so what. The people who fight will kill, they will be killed, we all have fun, if we want more we join a PvP corp and leave ocuk to travel along its merry way. If we dont want to fight we just sit in a station till its over then get back to what we enjoy.

Dont badmouth the leadership just cause they dont want to fight, it dont interest them, so why do it. All those pvp'ers in eve that dont like mining, but they wouldnt do it if other corp members wanted to cause it bores them.

Lets just drop all the **** thats being said on all sides. People do what they want to do, period. Whether they are a 2 year veteran, a 5 minute noob or a CEO of a corp that dont want to fight in a war.

Edit - And as for advertising to noobs that we introduce them to the game, we do, all but the PvP part of the game which is only ONE part of the game there are many MANY other sides to eve that dont start with the barrel of a 1400mm howitzer. If a new player joins ocuk for a while, they leave a lot more knowledgable about eve than when they joined. They might not have pvp "experience" but we advise them of things like low sec and 0.0 and how dangerous they are for PvP etc....

We run our corp our way, you run your corps your way, we dont critise your corps and what you do and how you do it, so dont critise us thanks.

Im still trying to figure out why muffin here is so agitated over something that doesnt directly involve him in the long run?

I may have only just started playing eve, but i can already see that an effective corporation has members in every aspect of the game. Some provide the combat, where others provide the ships and weaponry those guys use... and others provide the minerals that the production guys use. And guess what, the miners use the combat guys as protection, so its all a big circle where people can specialise.

During a war, i can see how if players stick to their roles and give it 110% they should easily come out victorious. Forcing a miner to jump in a ship they arent trained to equip properly is just removing a load of income that would be supplying your real fighters.

Am i making sense?

It's because his character used to be in the OcUK corp until just a couple of weeks ago. He left before he could be kicked out.....

1. You have stuck your nose in about the running of a corporation you know precisely nothing about.

2. You clearly know nothing about EVE if you think PVP is the be all and end all. CCP's idea of 'primary aim' is not everyones idea of 'primary aim'. Where would all these pvp'ers be without those who build the modules and ships they use.. ever done any Tech2 production? That takes months of skill training to get into.. How do Tech2 BPO's get into the game? That's right.. from months and months of Agent Missions.

3. Introduction (hint: it's a link, go click it)

So, let's introduce you to say.. Physics, shall we start with Quantum Mechanics? That's a good starting point. Let's give all 4 year old that to start their education.

3. You have changed you arguments more times than Jenna Jameson has dropped her knickers.

4. If you think my 'drivel' is a waste of time, why do you bother reading it, quoting it, then making a remark about it?

Need I carry on?

OOOOO

POSTIES

/me head is going foggy

We here at Squirrels of War do not condone the actions of corps wardecing seemingly defenseless hobbits. So we usually shoot them.

However the chances of me convincing Countdown to have a 300-man alliance war dec them back is narrow, as 1) they'd leg it, and 2) it costs 150m a week. The chances of ASCN doing it are far, far narrower.

So you got a choice...fight or...um...sit in the station. Either way they'll get bored and move on eventually.

And if you cant get a pod out when your ship goes down, you dont derserve implants. Nuff said.

Smartbomb and noob alts are the suckiest tactic in the world. We inherited a wardec when we let a corp into the alliance, 5 mins later im sat there in my Geddon with 6 lasers and a smartie. So the corp in question gets their mate from CoE to sit on my ass and scout. After an hour im getting bored but the rest of the guys are almost here...then out pops a raven and a mega from the station :D

So i kill the Raven and get out with half structure...but me no get no pod! And i couldve put a 7th laser in and not had a hefty repair bill :(

That is why you dont fit Smarties in empire.

Im pretty mad at the moment

Can someone confirm that the brokers fee is paid when you create a sell order and not when the item is actually sold.

I put up a batch of Mexallon for sale and shortly afterwards noticed my account was well down on Isk. Looked at my sell orders and noticed that the Mexallon was up for around 16,000 Isk rather than 16 Isk. The little typo appears to have cost me over 3 Million Isk in brokers fee's. I corrected the problem as soon as i noticed it, but the damage was done, with as far as im aware no way of getting the lost Isk back.

I was just about to buy my Brutix as well :( I think its probably set me back a week or so. Not happy.
