Just installed this and created an account - looking for some basic faqs and intro material, any suggestions?

If you haven't found it already here is the Player Guide this pretty much has all you need to know. The game is quite complex so you are best joining a newbie friendly corp (Such as OcUK or BSC) and asking questions, there is also an ingame "Help" channel, as well as numerous player created channels.

Ok - so I set a waypoint for a mission and select AutoPilot. It engages and then disengages telling me no waypoints are set. Trying to set a waypoint from the journal again just gives a message waypoint already set.....what gives?

i'm looking for a new player corp (got large barge/raven and 10.7million SP).

my in-game name is same as here, kranix. feel free to give me a shout.

large barge = cearbear :p

Ocuk sounds great for you :D

head to isikano IV - Spacelane Patrol Assembly Plant and drop in an application if you wanna join in on the mission whores or the strippers club :D

Im kind of getting kind of fed up, i've bought a whole load of ships. The Miners are pretty much useless as they cant hold enough. I can currently pilot the ore minor ship 1 and 2, but they can hardly hold anything so im better just leaving my Iteron 4 or 5 to mine. Im trying to learn ore miner 5, but even it has less than half off iteron 4 or 5 altough it can run strip miners. I can also pilot a Brutix, but no idea what to do with it ...

I've currently got a Iteron MK III, Iteron MK IV, 2 x Iteron MK V, An Ore Covetor, Ore Retriever, Ore Procurer, a Brutix, A Gallente Shuttle, A Velator and a few others...

Melchy, mining in an industrial is BAD. Ok?

Jet can mine in a quiet system or use secure containers. Use your barge then collect with Iteron later. If I catch you ingame mining in an Iteron I will blast it out from under your pod!

stewc - go to the map, then the autopilot settings, untick 'Avoid Pod Killing Zones'. Huge alliance vs. alliance wars going on in Empire at the moment so they'll be everywhere :D. But don't worry, it's nothing that will effect you directly. (Yet.)

Not very patient eh Fox?

You'll spend much more than that on some skills. Are your learning skills high enough? Got any implants you can use to cut the time down a bit?

19 days til Amarr Cruiser 5 and my Zealot.

Now if i could actually buy one and get it past BoB patrols i could get it killed in a fleet! Woo.

/me fumes about BoB having a lot of HAC bpos...

I want an Iteron V.

I don't want to spend 24 days learning one skill.
That's quite understandable at a fairly early stage in the game. I prefer the Itty IV to the V though, much more agile and actually half decent looking. But the V does obviously have the advantage of that huge cargo bay. I can easily carry a while jet can of ore in a Mk V.

But get used to the long skills. Gallente Battleship V took me 32 days I think and that was a killer. Cruiser V was better at 15 days, but to max out my drone skills is another 22 days (but then I'll be carrying 15 t2 heavies in my Domi). If you want to specialize in large weapons then you have to take the initial small, medium and large skills to level V, and that's a lot of training!

It'd be nice to have skills that didn't take less than a week, but they are few and far between now.

I'll stop waving my skills e-peen now :)

Much better. Faster, more damage and of course you have the benefit that you have to get the initial skills up high to be able to use them, so extra damage from those as well. I've taken the specialisation skills to level IV which is an extra 8% damage. I reckon they're about 10% above t1, so you can add 18% straight away. If you're not going to use t2 drones then you'd not have trained Heavy Drone Operation above level 4, so you get an extra 5% from that one level as well.

So theoretically, your t2 drones are going to be doing 23% more damage than the bloke who launches t1 drones.

I've used t2 Valkyries to take out Angel Battleships by themselves, and they're only mediums. t1 Valks couldn't manage that without gun support.

Full screen mode for me is notoriously buggy... it seems to crash to windows a lot more often than in windowed mode.
