The *Official* Eve Online Thread

grr that kinda sucks, actaully there is a way round it i guess BM something about 50km away and then warp in at 50km should land you between 0 & 15km at most from the target? Just means a lot of Re BMing.
This is going to be a pain in the bum for hauling :( which i tend to do a lot off.

I'll with hold any further winging untill i've looked at Sisi it might not be as bad as i think.

I autoed down to PF-346 and it simply used 0km - I was coming out of warp varying distances from gate each time

That sounds good, means the skills you train will have a direct effect on your travel times, which now I've thought about it, was the whole point replacing insta bookmarks with the new skills.

Ignore me, I'm having a very random day.

just had a quick test and yes in roid belts with cans you still get the warp deviation.

I tried warping 5 times to a can anchored in a belt and I came out of warp at 12km twice about 8000m one 5000m once and 15km.

The "Advanvced Camera" angles could be good for new angles to videos and easyier to keep an eye on certain hostiles.

But the best is the Tran Apoc Armour HP 4800 and SiSi Apoc Armour HP = 6000 \o/

Very interesting events this weekend. Big fat G/IRON blob in the south, followed by BoB taking a sight seeing tour thru Deklein. Its only gonna hot up from here.

ah man that was a fun weekend, we were sat waiting for rkk to join us and they had a fleet battle against vc where we destroyed them, omg it was so funny, when they joined us an hour later than planned they were still laughing about it, we then went on a jaunt to go up north and PA gathered a fleet and we though "woo", because pa's cannon fodder in a fleet, but in the end we took too long travelling up and killing stuff on the way and there was a load of lag issues which i can understand that PA had worse as they were blobbed up with they're meatshields in burgerking, its a shame the big fight we wanted didnt happen, i was really looking forward to it.

g and iron seem to be having fun down in Stain tho, kudos.

hehe, there were a few of us in ts2 looking for you mate, i think monk was particularly interested in finding you :P although we were pretty powerless with 5 of us in local and about 25 BNC :P I though PA got their behinds handed to em when i saw that huge blob dissapear, seems they were saved by lag :P

Interesting turn of events down South. I where that intel came from? I have a feeling the best is yet to come.

'twas very interesting intel that got leaked, especially as it was all quoted out of context.
Sadly none of the other alliances were prepared to take our word for it and decided that listening to deliberately disruptive spies was far more productive.

Ahh well, its their ships that are getting blown up, so its not like we're too fussed by it all. All apart from that pathetic incident where we jumped in to a single system and all got wiped out because lag meant not one of us saw the hostiles until we were in pods (we got some lovely screenshots of nearly dead ships with no other ships in sight!) That was frustrating, we had less ships in that system that you see in most major empire systems, and yet the whole thing ground to a halt. The G/IRON fleet was having almost as much difficulty in that system as well, but at least they could just about see the targets popping into view, target and fire at them.

i thought they were ment to be using load balancing to enable larger battles? and direct the procesing power were it was needed?
or does the load ballancing not work very well in these situations?

CCP employ load balancing on various places on the Tranquility server, from a network point of view there are a number of entry points to their network from a number of different peers including Clueless and Witless, Deutche Telekom and Iceland Telecom. There also employ a kind of delayed load balancing for hosting the different solar systems, they monitor usage of the different solar systems and then at down time attempt to balance out the universe by putting the busiest solar systems on a server of their own and moderatly busy solar systems on servers that they only share with virtualy unpopulates solar systems.

This is why you might experence lag from a fleet battle in ASCN space in lonetrek for example, as the moderatly busy solar system (probably one with a POS in) may be hosted on the same server as as another solar system with no more than one or two people in it at once.

Unfortunatly solarsystems can not be moved while these nodes are live, thus if there is a fleet battle in a normaly quiet solarsystem you are far more likely to run in to lag, than if it was the same solar system every monday night.

yeh :D i knew where you guys were too, we just didnt go near to where you were, i didnt get too many kills tbh, i was in a tempest, our support was just too damn effective, most engagements i was only firing off 1 volley from my 1400II's, mind you thats enough to kill most things :D my lightly hits were nearly 400dmg with emp.

i think iron and g are in a good position atm, prolly one of the strongest postions in eve, alliances like SA were a shell and tbh needed to be bought down to earth, im really for people like d-f-c did getting out into 0.0 (although im not sure project rebirth is the best way to go about it unless they make NPC stations in 0.0 player capturable) because it makes for a better game for everyone imo, this time last year there were 4 alliances in 0.0.. now? theres loads, it's great :D

I think CCP have said that if you send them your fleet operation schedules, i.e where you're going to be say they can attempt to make sure the systems/nodes you will be in have a server to themselves or at least shared with unpoulated systems - but then since when is fleet movement easily scheduled a day or two in advance :(
