Silva fanboys are getting really annoying now. I've never been one of his fans, but if I was I'd accept he was lucky to of beat him the first time.
Says the Silva hater...
Now tell me this, after being outstruck, out grappled and dominated for 4 and a half rounds, then winning by submission, how is he going to beat Chael this time? He cannot sub him twice, he was lucky the first time, a second time would be a flat out miracle.
Chael is known for being susceptible to submissions. Anderson Silva is a black belt in BJJ with proven submission skills. In a 25 minute fight I'd say there is a fair chance Silva could land another submission.
I don't really like Anderson, as a person outside of the sport yea he's an alright dude, but inside the cage and inside MMA he's a total *****, he ducks anyone who might beat him as much as he can, and rely's on his status and renown to defeat his opponents. The only person who didn't fear him was Chael, and he was the only person who beat him.
Who exactly has Anderson ducked? He has beaten various fighters who were pretty bad match ups for him, Hendo and Chael being probably the most notable due to their wrestling.
Yushin Okami could have destroyed him, that guy is huge and rolls with heavyweights and overpowers them, but he got scared and just ate fists, he didn't even try a takedown!
I do agree Okami choked as he was terrified of Silva, but I disagree that Okami didn't try for a takedown. Okami grabs hold of people and drags them down, he had Silva against the cage for a while in the first round and just ate knees before giving up, I'd say if the opportunity presented it's self there he would have taken him down, but it didn't, then he gave up..
What you need to destroy somebody like Silva is a monster of a wrestler, and that is what Chael is, and after the first fight, Silva has no hope.
What a crazy statement...how much have you bet on Sonnen?
I have literally just re-watched Silva vs Sonnen 1 as a build up for this Saturday and I definitely don't think Silva looked his usual self however I don't believe all the excuses about him wanting to submit Sonnen and having injuries etc. There is no way he chose to take a beating for 23 minutes.
I can't actually picture Silva doing much differently from the first fight due to just how controlling Sonnen was, however when I think about it logically the the odds must still definitely be in Silva's favour to pull something out of the bag. He's an elite striker and only has to land one good shot to rock Sonnen and lead into a KO or submission.
Sonnen's best chance is to grind Silva out for 25 full minutes, avoiding kicks, punches, submission attempts etc. What would be truly impressive is if Sonnen somehow finished Silva with an arm triangle or similar.
