ive only seen Weidman fight twice, and both of those were against Silva.
he looked a bit awkward to me like he didnt quite know where he was or what he was doing lol

(I don't know much about her but) I just hope that Alexis Davis has been working on her boxing and her take-down defence. Tate would have beaten Rousey if the fight had stayed on the feet.

Much as I like Tate, and I really do especially following the season of TUF against Rousey, I've got serious doubts that she will ever beat Ronda! Yes she was looking better while the fight was standing, but that's not saying a lot!

She needs to not just work on her takedown defence but those judo throws were devastating in the context of the fight!

Strange to think that Tate has actually only won once in the octagon and even that was a close(ish) decision!

Rousey's standup is a joke to be honest. Mind you, most of womens MMA standup is embarrassing to watch. Not to say they wouldn't knock me on my rear, but i'm not a professional fighter ;)

Awesome card this weekend. I like Machida but i'm hoping Weidman takes it so people will actually give him some credit. He's an absolute beast.

Obviously hoping Rousey gets beaten, but unfortunately I don't see it.

Chris Weidman (c) vs. Lyoto Machida
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Alexis Davis
Stefan Struve vs. Matt Mitrione
Uriah Hall vs. Thiago Santos
Marcus Brimage vs. Russell Doane - toss up.

This is how UFC events should feel. Sure, not every event is gonna be special but there are way too many events with some really horrible fights. I understand you don't have to watch them and that they're working hard to expand the product worldwide but my god. Less fighters, more stacked cards please.

Anyway, looking forward to this one. As is Joe.

Looking forward to this card, though will likely be watching most of it in the morning.

Not been in this thread for a bit as I still have a few of the fight nights to catch up on! (all the world cup's fault)

The Rousey fight was as expected farcical, queue Dana White and the UFC harping on about how much of a great fighter she is. No, it's simply that the only competition is Cyborg, and we all know that fight will never happen. Holmes is the only other fighter I can think of, but it's too early for her she'd get ragdolled.

Weidman is a beast, Machida only really started to get a sniff when he slowed down. Needs to sort that cardio out a little bit, but his stand up is strong, wrestling is great, good pressure, can take a shot and his BJJ is top notch. His only downside is definitely going to be the later rounds, if he sorts that out he could be the champion for a long, long time.

Shame the Struve and Mitrione fight never took place, I felt that would be one of the better fights on the card.

TUF final on BT sport at 2am as well by the way.
