Did you used to watch it during work time? Nice one if so :D

I had expected Oliveria to be beaten in his last two fights and they more or less went the same way. He took an early beating, looked like it was close to being over, recovered amazingly, strangled his opponent. I think same will happen again.

I can't really see Ferguson winning this one though. Shame as I've always really liked him. Travesty we haven't seen him at his best against prime Khabib or McGregor.

Not too much on the prelims grabbing me, 10 am start Sunday morning though, what else am I going to be doing? Brian Ortega's absolute hottie of a Mrs is on the early prelims but they wont be shown here.

12 hour shifts at a data centre waiting for things to go wrong, which they rarely did; we were encouraged to find ways to amuse ourselves. Those who didn’t tended to go a bit mad (or get paid to sleep half the night).

Some other fighters complained about the scales being mis-calibrated. If true that’s hilarious amateur from the state athletic commission.

I favour Charles choking Justin out though so although he loses his title he’ll then have the opportunity to regain it next fight… but hopefully won‘t (Islam to beat Dariush then fight Charles for the vacant belt).

Rose v Carla

Gathje, for all of his strength and speed, has the brains and fight IQ of a rock. He does not deserve to be champion because he fights like a numbnuts. He just stood there and loaded up power shots, putting himself off balance repeatedly and allowing Oliviera to dart in. Yes he did hurt Oliviera, but ffs that does not mean you completely throw caution to the wind and expose yourself to being finished in the first damn round. Oliviera is just an amazing fighter and i hope he gets that belt back asap and I want to see him against Islam.

Ferguson vs Chandler wtf... I was so hopeful that Ferguson was going to come back to something approaching his old self with that strong first round performance, but Chandler delivered one of the most brutal knockouts imaginable. Basically a football kick to the heard. The guy is a gladiator and I would actually like to see him vs Connor.

As for the Rose vs Eparza fight... my goodness that was the worst fight ever. Rose danced around dooing nothing and then her numbskull boyfriend kept telling her she was doing amazing and that the boos of the crowd were evidence of that? Truly delusional and she needs to get him out of her corner asap. Trevor Whitman was subtly trying to tell her to let go, but it was in a very mild and strained way and I think he was uncomfortable and yet didn't have the balls to take over fully and tell Pat to F off. Rose was cheering after her takedown as though she was putting on a star performance, and in the post fight interview she is saying she is proud of her performance, she's clearly not right in the head.

Overall this was a weird card.

;)

Justin is too one-dimensional to get the belt; these days you need to be at least somewhat complete if you want to be no1. Charles gets hit way too much. Someone more intelligent with strong hands might be able to pick him off.

Lol@how bad Rose’s fight was, she could and should have battered Carla but instead we got an even more boring version of Izzy v Romero where it was 5 rounds of dancing about. She’ll never get rid of groomer Pat, sigh.

Chandler‘s highlight reel just got even better. Absolutely brutal KO (check out some of the pictures at the moment of impact - yikes!). Tony did look dangerous but like any chin, eventually the granite starts to crack and crumble. He might still do well as a gatekeeper to the top but he doesn’t belong in that group now.

Great UFC card, and we even got to see a dancing contest with Namajunas and Esparza. Rose deserved to lose her title in my opinion.

The front kick knock out of Ferguson was the most severe I've seen from a front kick, and that's including the 2 Lyoto Machida did against Couture and Belfort.

What makes Chandler's KO more impressive is that he isn't even known for his kicking compared to Machida and Silva when they pulled off a similar move.
