Off topic, how do they measure a fighter's reach? I've noticed that the reach for some fighters fluctuates quite a bit. I've read various things online, I just find it really weird that say a fighter like GSP has a reported reach of 78". And if they measure from the armpit, how do they end up with a figure in the 70s?
 
Hope this seasons is better than the lasts, I diddnt like that at all, Just a bunch of guys completely gassing in the first round each time they fought, Luckilly we got Roy from it, Love watching him fight, seems such a happy chap!

Main events were a bit poor in my opinion, as was the brawl at the end. Hope the Diaz brothers get what's coming to them, both are worthless pieces of ****, as are the rest of the Shield's camp. Mayhem did not deserve a gang beating for his, quite frankly funny 'hey buddy, where's my rematch!' comment.

A 2 hour show and we got 2 fights, yes they were both 5 round fights that went the distance, but I hope you could fit more than 2 fights in.

Jake Shields.... I don't know where to start, no denying he has talent he schooled Henderson on the ground. But he had mount in 4 rounds and had it for over 3 minutes at one point, and he was happy to just hit with girlie shots just enough to not get stood up. He was never close to finishing Hendo just wouldn't take any risks.

That was his last fight on his contract, with his win over Hendo the UFC may be interested in picking him up, then he can be fed to GSP or Silva depending who he wants to be beaten by first.

King Mo.... lay n pray the whole fight, can see he is still very new to MMA great takedowns but then just happy to sit in guard not doing much get stood up wash repeat.

Mousasi dunno what happened to him, his game plan seemed to be score an upkick KO again like he did on Jacare, or hammer fist from the bottom. No td defence whatsoever, was suprised how amateur he looked.

Pretty poor event, wasn't impressed.
 
Apparently Dana twittered ':)' soon after the event had finished. Even the farce that was the silva/maia fight was more entertaining than that pap.

I was really disappointed with Aoki too, with that performance he would be no threat to a fit Penn.

Have to agree, I have no clue what Mousasi was up to. Really didn't seem himself. It actually looked like he honestly didn't care what so ever.

Now nobody could deny that Mo won the fight but the stats that go with it and Mo's face at the end paint a very different picture.

I think Bisping is actually underrated as a fighter, i know the UFC hype machine runs overtime on him but i think he's better than people give him credit for. The only thing he actually lacks is power. I know its quite a big asset not to have, but technically he is great in all areas.

i missed this the first time.

Bisping isnt actually 'Great' all round, he is simply as bad on the ground as he is on his feet. i.e hes pretty average with no killer move on either level.

why is he called, 'The Count'...i dont think i have EVER seen him KO somebody. because he has no KO power, he has little chance on his feet.

having said that, was i surprised he beat the canadian Denis Kang?? yes very much so but he had no heart and has shown that repeatedly in his fights, to my displeasure.

for me that is bispings best attribute, he has some heart. his skills dont match his mouth, he doesnt have power. he isnt going to arm bar you on the ground. in UFC belt challenging terms, he is average for the division.
 
i watched strikeforce the other night and watched the fedor vs rogers in november and it really is a poor promotion in comparison to ufc

mousassi was a huge let down after hearing so much about him. he had no takedown defense, striking was not too impressive and he didnt try to submit mo enough

mo was nothin special either apart from his takedowns.

shields did well for me against hendo, so close to being finished but hung in there and dominated the remaining four rounds. shame he has no power whatsoever to do damage from dominant positions

as for the brawl at the end, pathetic really
 
Its wierd with Tito, there are times I hate him, but when you watch him as a coach on Season 3 and now Season 11 of TUF - he seems like a guy that genuinely cares about the future of the guys he is coaching, much more than anybody else in my opinion. Didnt see him as a woman beater either.

If he goes in there and takes the fight to the opponent rather than rehearsing for Strictly Come MMA Dancing (don't want to name any names here but you know whom I am on about) I'm up for a new MW Champion.
