991bhp MX5 (253mph down the Mulsanne straight!)...all great to mess around in

Reminds me of a real MR2 built to do 200mph, it had the problem of wanting to swap ends at high speed which meant they placed lead down the centre of the chassis
Also there was the 300zx from gt4 capable of similar speeds, very undrivable most of the time, does this mx5 really do ok ?
 
Well, I reached that speed with no wings, is very unstable like that (back end comes out at 220mph on slight bumps) - it'll do mid 240s with wings (but minimum downforce) and is a bit more stable like that
 
Guys, maybe I am being stupid or missing something, but why can I not change anything but tire pressure on any of my cars? I can not change any of the other values when tuning.

Is this something I have to unlock, or are a lot of the tuning options only avilable with certain upgrades? Really want to play around with fine-tuning some cars and this is starting to bug me now.
 
Road cars are as you would find them in the showroom.

Generally speaking add Sport upgrades and some options will become available, add Race parts and most if not all of the options become available. Track specials and race cars will come with more tweaking options available as standard.

Thanks for the info. Did the proper upgrades and managed to do some tuning :)
 
i think i have given up the multiplayer for the time being. too many children trying to beat everyone in their bog standard car. i can be several seconds a lap quicker then first place but 90% of the time i do not even make it past the first corner. :(

when you are in tuning mode (tyre pressure screen), you need to press the top right shoulder button to go across the options.

You need to buy the parts.
 
Was doing some shoping tonight, before i left i joked to my bro about him getting forza 3, but when i got to the supermarket i saw it for £29.97 and couldnt resist it at that price so have went and got it for myself, had a couple of teething probs as i tend to install my games to the hd, so i did that 1st before starting the game, but then it wouldnt work so had to uninstall it apply disk 2 then install disk 1 back onto the hd.
 
Well I finaly got this yesterday.
I love it the driving is a lot better (and easier) compared to number 2.
The graphics are better as well.
The only thing that I dont like is the loading times, they seem to take an age
 
Copy to the HDD - helps a lot.

Loading times are no worse than Forza 2, and much better than NFS:Shift. That takes so long I can make a brew and come back before it's done...
 
Hmm, it seems a lot of people are buying and using the Audi S5 in A Class after modding it. Are they really that good?

I'm desperate to buy and tune a Ferari F40, does anyone fancy sending me on? :D

I have noticed this. Most races I've had online I have seen many people using an S5 modded to A Class\600PI.

On another note, I keep getting signed out of Xbox Live. Is anyone else having any problems? I have my Xbox in the DMZ of the router so don't think that its a port issue.

Might go back to my old speedtouch if things don't improve.
 
Yes the S5 is the current A600 car popping up on most of the leader boards and its very fast (but heavy). I have one to whip out when theres a lobby of 6+ R8's playing bumper cars.
At over 3000 lbs its nice to bounce the gits off when they take a swipe at you.

Spend most of my time racing something lighter though.
 
As much as I love this game, and I do, it's bloody harsh on what you get penalised for during a lap. If The Stig got an exclamation mark every time he kind of cut a corner there'd be no lap time board on Top Gear :D

The sensitivity of the penalty system is flipping ridiculous that's for sure.
