***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

Finally had time to sit down and play this over the weekend, started working on some the driver assists, stability is gone, racing line is gone, ai on medium, big ones to tackle are going to be the auto breaking and auto gearing.. but I'm awful at driving games so I'm putting that off.

Must admit, R1's are immensely fun, they're just so planted to the track, completely different world from anything else.

yeah, according to the forza forums there question to whether or not its actualluy coming out

they made a statement and havent been quick to clarify

They said "this is the last forza monthly car pack"
forumers said " where the jalop one?"
They were like UMMM i dunnoo really

LOTS of threads got locked about it so i dunno

that last time i checked anyway

I think the Jalopnik pack will come out, but just in a few months.

If you listen to the podcasts, they do explain that DLC takes 6-9 months to implement, so assuming they can source the cars etc (and they aren't that rare), add 6-9 months to the Jalopnik poll date, and you can see that it probably wouldn't be out for a little while..

And I think their 6-9 month estimate is reasonable, just look at claims from other devs how much effort in modelling cars and how long it takes! especially when you are concentrating on your next big thing..

According to Deamon's post, it's 250,000 credits.

T10 set time trials quite often in their Pitpass, they normally last a week or 2, and very frequently they do the same money prizes, 250,000 for a top 100 and 500,000 for a top 10.

Once the end date has elapsed, the money is paid, if you do it after the end date, you don't obviously get anything, and as noted, not every time trial has a cash payout (I did think they did, my mistake!)..

Does anybody have any advice on R1 setups, specifically for decent ring times? Been working on the Ring for a couple of days now, but best time I've managed has been in the 6 minutes 40, which isnt exactly breathtaking.

Cheers

Katoom is pretty handy, or CaptainFail!, or Eliot, or utajoker... Lots of good racers on here.

If you're driving R1 cars on the ring soften the suspension, increase ride height a touch and don't have extreme downforce as I find it makes them really twitchy :) also tyre pressure seems to make a big difference on these cars, I usually use 30psi on the front tyres and 31.5 on the rear, I find it helps prevent oversteer...once the tyres are warmed up obviously (try this with all rear wheel drive cars tbh). Just a few quick tips for you! :)

What's you tag?
I'll send my set-up for the GT-ONE that i've done a low 5m47 with. (With TC on, i took 1.5s off my old time on the 3rd lap). More to come.

The biggest chunk of time will come from learning the braking points and line choice, and if your using 'racing line', you don't have to slow down for every red part.

I've just started playing Forza again, i'd forgotten how addictive it is! :D

I've got 1200MSP to spend on FM3 DLC so I'm looking for some advice on which packs to spend it on. Do the DLC packs come with any in-game credits by the way, as i've only got about 22K in the bank at the minute!

Forza 3 didn't grab me like the previous two games. I played it for about a week before I got bored of it but I'm now playing again (in preparation for F1 2010 :)).
Really think I need to get a wheel to get the best out of it, the pad just isn't accurate/sensitive enough.
