***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

I started playing it a bit recently but then GT5 updated the online situation and I'm really enjoying the PP system.

Playing this again after playing GT5. Was a GT fanboy but I prefer Forza now. The AI is a lot better and the car sounds are spot on.

Also just done some figures with my AWD Golf MK2 GTi. 400bhp, quarter mile in 11.70 seconds ish at 123 mph. So says the performance calculator I was using. It's an exact match to that in Forza. I doubt GT will be that close!

Very impressive!

Are you saying you have a real life modded Golf MK2 Rallye/Syncro? The stock motors sound all wrong imo sounds like there are some bad tappets.

No sorry. I meant I used a performance calculator (this one) and used the figures from the game which matched perfectly :)

And the sounds are infinitly times better than the GT versions. VTEC engines and Ferrari V8s specifically.

Yeah I agree some of the engines are fantastic, but stock MK1/2 Golfs are shameful. It's a pity they dropped sports exhaust sounds which maybe would have drowned it out.

major forza fan incomiiiiiiing!

GT is Reaper 392

because of trials HD my friends list is constantly full, so send me a message and i'll put you on my friends list (please say your from here)

im a pretty serious forza tuner when the mood takes me, having even won a tuning competition run by turn 10 themselves.

i would recommend from my storefront:

serious tunes:
- anything by FLT, especially the speed oriented D class focus
- Jeep SRT8 B class Grip tune
- R3 Bugatti EB110 missile tune
- grip tuned Dodge charger 1969
- speed tuned Mazda RX7-FC: A class + over 260mph :D
- R1 acura new version (use TCS)

tunes for a laugh:
- 'roll over' land rover: it will roll over if you coast round any corner at ~60mph
- front flip civic: brake at high speed and it will do a front flip
- wheelie renault 5: go down the le mans straight and it will do a wheelie

i would avoid:
- any early R1 cars (except the new acura)
- great accel Datsun 510 (barely tuned this)
- wheelie porsche: barely works

Been doing a few drag races actually.

Did the 400bhp AWD event with my 400bhp Golf. Then the 500bhp AWD event with the same 400bhp Golf. Then the 550bhp event with the same 400bhp Golf :D

Was too easy even on hard and all the assists off up until the last event when I got a poor start and tied with a Superleggera!

I had similar experiences in the RWD drag races. I spanked everythig with a VX220 or something.

Quoting the same post a second time... I've booked out this month's gaming for grinding Forza 3 for Solid Gold so I'm picking up all the events I've not done yet. I did the remaining drag races today. I'm playing with hard AI most of the time, and there's very little will beat the HKS Evo in the 600bhp AWD event. I got a bit silly and spent 150k on a Quattro with a twin supercharged R8 V10 engine in it and won that way. I thought I was on to something so I tried taking it out on Sebring with a few more tweaks... Noooooooo. Great in a straight line, yes. Once you try to steer it at all it will not go back in a straight line. Arse.

And also if anyone is after the selling achievement there's a free live weekend Saturday April 22nd. All gold is a real grind get a wired pad and hire a driver for the more mundane races/cars.

Aye, I've been hiring drivers for some. The ones that annoy me are the fixed spec car ones. You can't outdo them on the car front, and I can't beat them without dropping it to medium AI which sucks.

Some of the hired drivers can't even manage on Medium AI the car class was definitely up in the high Rs I forget the event name, but the plonker kept crashing into the wall on the Ladera Test Track section of Camino Viejo de Montserrat extreme.

I've seen the same thing happen. He kept driving the Peugeot 908 over the speed bumps and bouncing it round the corners. I think I ended up putting it on easy AI and doing it myself.
