auto brake wtf
I hope theres a large gap between people who use assists and dont, personally I'd set a multiplayer game to exclude them all but I rarely see this done

To be fair the last time I heard of autobrake in a game was Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix 4 which was an excellent game, even had steering assist as I remember but the physics were still great underneath when all aids were turned off.
Dont suppose he has done a game recently :/

That's braking lines, not racing lines.

When I refer to race line I mean brake line as well. It didn't occur to me they were two different things. But thank you for pointing out my flaw. I'll try again shall I.

Why is it they keep posting videos with brake lines and racing lines when they keep bragging about it being the most realistic race game ever. I can't remember ever watching F1 and seeing green and red lines all over the tracks.

Its the most realistic arcade game ever, Ive not played it recently but I wonder if its better then ferrari 355 on the dreamcast. I think they mentioned studying that game

Actually thinking about it being a braking line only it isn't really. It is a race line and brake line at the same time. As it shows the right path through the corner, it just doesn't show the right position down a straight. Which any moron should be able to work out if they know their out-in-out.

Don't panic..

Using Autobrake your times will be miles off the top.. even using ABS increases laptimes quite a bit over not using it (if you can brake OK without it that is!).

I've been trying the assists to see which help/hinder my laptimes.. the only 1 that was useful was TCS in the GT3 RSR since it really can be tricky getting the power down (for me)..

Then you disable it? Most people use it as a training feature to help learn the track, what is wrong with that? Why would they make a game inaccessible to loads of people. What's wrong with trying to enable everyone to enjoy the game?

What game are you talking about?

I will be don't wory. I'm just having a rant for no reason. Just think the videos would look nicer with out them.

Ive also succumbed, ordered a "Porsche 911 Turbo S" setup, £320... I just hope it is better than my G25, that way i can sell that, give the MS Wireless wheel away and use the one wheel for all three systems. :) November delivery sucks though. :(

You dont have to worry about it being better than a G25.

Not sure if you seen the thread @ gtf but....
I got one this week (Fanatec beta tester)
Also have the pleasure of doing reviews...

Mr Latte I notice in your thread over at gtforums (I really should sign up) that the G25 pedal adapter cable has a very similar connector to my old DFP pedals. Do you think that these pedals are usable with the Fanatec wheel despite not being listed as compatible?

I know they aren't the best pedals in the world but if I could use them and save a bit of cash in the short term that would be nice. I don't have the 360 wheel otherwise I would have taken that route.

InsideSimRacing.tv had a pretty good review of those two stands..

A very quick summary:
- Both where said to be good.
- Wheel stand pro is the most adjustable.
- Fanatec Rennsport is the most stable.

If youd like do sign up take a photo of your connector to I see the pins or if any pins are missing. I will compare to both GT and G25 however think even the New DFGT has a change to the G25 which stops DFGT pedals being used.
Curious to see if the Pro pedals are the same as the DFGT.
