***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

You really need to see it in motion.. There are jaggies in all games (It's still got 2xMSAA which isn't too bad), but the sheer detail on the new tracks and the improvement in reflections/lighting are more apparent in motion. That and the sound is amazing..

The Demo, in bumpercam is simply 60fps heaven IMO..

Sacrificing some graphical detail to keep a smooth 60fps is an absolute no brainer for me. Forza 3's devs seem to have struck a. good balance though.

I bought a premium console only for £55 a PSU for £10 a hdd for £17 and a hdmi cable for £7 I already had a wired controller and a wireless one which I use for my PC. The P+P was £11. £100 not bad to get me going.

This is agreat game but the one thing that REALLY annoys me is the compression.
If you spend time doing a great design that looks beautiful in the editor it lokks terrible close in-game.
For example look at the writing on the porsche when playing and you will see that there are words that are simply unreadable on the side of the car.
It's a great game but not the game that turn10 are advertising.
Just finished ODST and what a total disappointment.
Thank god for PC gaming on a corei7 and a GTX295.

I'd have the most awesome hardware too... but Forza 3 isn't on the PC, its on a hardware limited console.

The texture resolution is much better than in Forza 2. Yes, when in actual race things are toned down a notch, but in the menus and photo mode the cars shuld look great and will be awesome to show off either way.

There will always be compromise in the console market, but Forza 3 is shaping up to be a very versatile and complete package for the racing fans. No PC racer paraells it imo. Forza 3 won't be perfect, but it will do everything it does to a good if not great standard and it's clear from all the hands on and reviews that my pre-release hyped up conclusion isn't far from reality. Bring on the 23rd!

As soon as i saw the username i knew you would be putting the game down somehow.

Strange that.

Well there's no law against criticism, the evidence is plain to see.

I'm no Forza fanboy but I'll still be getting it, it just astonishes me that cars can go through one another I don't remember the last racing game to have such a glaring problem.

some of those images are plain stupid. Have they ever played a 3d game, i cant think of any game out there where things like that dont happen.

It's quite prevalent in all these type of games if you look closely enough, this time around, the game is under a microscope at the moment and glitches are being found, and it's the new thing to expose them.. Dirt2 and NFS Shift have issues, hell, even the GT5 demo had cars disappearing into each other, it's clearly something not enough attention is paid to from a visual perspective.. T10 has asked all glitches to be recorded by the early 'green disk' reviewers, so hopefully even the rare glitches will be patched quickly.

From the reviews so far, it clearly isn't prevalent, glitches have been mentioned, but only in a 'very rarely' kind of way, however, if you stage things, ou can re-create them if you wish.. it depends what you want to do..

If you read the article that goes with the pictures, it doesn't sound like anything major to worry about?

In those wing clipping issues it only looks like the addon splittlers which are most prevailant to be the things in issue. But not the original car model itself, unless we're looking at a DBR1 here and i'm not paying much attention.

The clipping is intentional, im more than sure of it. Can an Aston martin GT car realistically drive a coastal mountian pass? No, the splitter would be knackered if not ripped off immediately. Do we want to race an Aston GT car on a coastal mountain pass, almost certainl yes! So compromise has to be made.

They can't expect all players to tweak the cars to raise the ride height and change other settings to make it drivable on such a road. What we're seeing is compromise.

The fact that the cars are clipping on collision is aparent even in the demo. They kind of bounce in and out of each other rather than unrealistically hit a brick wall off each other. They can't afford a realistic deforming damage model for hardware/creative limitation but what actually happens physics wise is a little more realistic.

It isn't perfect and a small point in the grand scheme of things, but console gaming is always about compromise these days. You either have great looking 10 min games are slightly lower quality gameplay orientated games.

Yes, I do have my fanboi glasses on, yes I am really looking forward to this game and yes, I like men.

Hopefully they will be in the post on the 21st, likely with the game going gold so early, and thus hopefully arriving on the 21st. I paid extra for next day delivery so if I don't get it on the day I will be pretty upset tbh.
