***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

Oh please why is everyone so concerned about playin gonline with a legit copy, you won't get banned for playing it early if it's a legit copy.

Also on the subject of orders being sent out early etc etc, does anybody else find it strange that a certain site that also has a high street store has sent out copies but the store itself wll not sell it until Friday, that just seems daft to me.

No because then they'd be breaking the street date and get a hefty fine.

RM postal strikes don't effect your ability to walk into a shop now does it?

I'll be playing online shortly, getting a nice chunk of cash for each race since I only use ABS. S'good. Got myself an S2000 ready for a drift sesh down that mountain with my mate when I give him his copy in an hour or so. :D

You can play the SP, but don't go online with it just yet.

But I'll have to delete all my progress come Friday won't I? achievement earned 20/10/09 is a bit of a giveaway. :p

Could pull the network cable and set the clock forward I guess.

There's no way for them to tell if it's legit or not and since the official release date is not while Friday...

Drexel is right, play SP offline until Friday...

No, Drexel is wrong. It is completely safe to go online. You have a legitimately purchased game from a legitimately authorised Microsoft reseller.

It is beyond ridiculous to suggest you cannot play it online. How is Mr Average Customer supposed to know he might get secretely banned when the nice shiney new game he bought drops through his letterbox?

MS cannot detect rips of retail copy games. They are identical to the real thing. The only thing that'll lead to people being banned is a review copy, a bad image, incorrect stealthing or playing long before release date.

That won't delete achievements but if you gain them offline, it just says 'Aquired'.

And as we've said, there is a way for them to detect the review copy people downloaded, so if you are playing it in this way, then prepare to lose your account.

How can you say what they can or can't do on their own hardware? How do you know they can't push out executable code on a tag by tag basis and get the xbox to perform checks that way?

Considering microsoft also said that if your copy is legit and you have a recipt play away so just play it! :D

Also mine arrived today so thats my evening sorted for after work

This always happens though, with any online store that have high-street branches.

If mine has arrived today I will certainly be connecting to Live with it. There's no chance this close to release they would still be banning anyway.

lol - don't you think they would have done that by now if they could? The 360 is pirated to crap!

Are you telling me you got that 61k GS legitimately?

Hehe, nah play it online The policy master of Xbox Live has said for years it's fine to play the game if you own it and have the receipt. Even the French Halo ODST players were allowed to play it as they legally purchased it and the problem is with the shop and not the customer.

So it is fine to play Forza 3 online now :D

"Don't worry folks, anyone who bought a copy early is ok," Toulouse Tweeted. "In general, if you got a receipt, play away. These are illegit copies we're hitting. You know, when you play a pre-release title on Live when I know you shouldn't have it, it's not hard for me to figure out."

Popped into tescos in chichester on the way back from a job and they dont have it out yet. I knew this but wanted to give it ago

Very jelous arghhhh

I went into a store asking how much it would be in the shop, and they didn't even know. Yet from the looks of things here they are already shipping from online! lol.

I've not ordered it yet, not sure I can really justify £55 for the limited edition version.... But I do want the extra cars.... can't decide!

Just play the bloody game that you bought. Nothing will happen. FACT.

I'd imagine location has a lot to do with it - US release isn't until the 27th, so its more obvious to Microsoft if the game is being played over the pond so early.
