***The Official Forza Motorsport 3 Thread***

Will give it a shot, need to earn some credits again first though! Fully upgraded my Skyline's engine, it sounds no different than stock, apart from revving much more quickly of course. Disappointed but it does not ruin the game, the racing cars sound crazy and the stock cars sound...something. Not stock though.

Proper Dragracing? :D

Awesome if so, can you set different distances?

Only tried it on the Benchmark Ring drag strip so I don't know if there are longer ones...the benchmark strip does have 8 lanes though.

RE: sounds, noticed quite a big difference from the upgrades I've done to my cars - changed the air intake on my S2000 and it was a lot more "grunty". Racing exhaust system on my drift S15 gave it a lot harsher sound, among others.

I'm just hoping I can find a car that sounds as good as the Shelby Series One in Forza2. Currently my favourite car :D
Low rumble building up to a typical Yank Muscle roar at higher revs, coupled with a screaming whining sound from the Supercharger :D Great fun to drive too!

can one of the early ones tell me what engine swap options there are for a bmw m3 e30

Just had a look through the upgrades and can't see any option to swap the engine.

Edit/ I have looked at my Fiesta Zetec S and I can put 3 engines in it. Ford Focus '06, Ford Focus '09 and RS200. The E30 M3 has no engine swap options just a turbo conversion.

Well, I've put a couple of hours into this and so far I'm really impressed. I'm playing with a pad until my wheel arrives, but even this way the physics engine feels really great. The cars just feel logical, but they'll bite your head off if you push them too far. Awesome.

My two minor gripes are concerning the AI. First of all, on any track that I even vaguely know, the AI just can't compete. I find it a little weird that there's just three difficulty levels, because I know a lot of people are having trouble keeping up with the hard AI but just completely destroy the medium one. I generally beat the hard AI by 2-4 seconds per lap on tracks I've raced on before, new tracks take some learning and the AI is a lot more competetive in that situation. The other problem is that you can't choose the AI cars in split screen. You can pick the class, but the AI always defaults to some of the lower level cars from that class. Just seems like a minor oversight and it shouldn't be too hard to add an option in a patch or something.

But yeah, I've barely scratched the surface and this is already my favorite racing game of all time, and I've always been a hardcore PC sim racer. Can't wait for that wheel to arrive!

shame i wanted to copy that real life build and put in an m5 engine lol. nevermind i suppose it is a pretty special and custom case of engine swapping though
cant wait to make a fiesta like the vids on youtube, one is faster than a veyron!!!
thanks for looking for me dude

I know it's probably not the case, but the graphics seem slightly rougher than the demo

Also seen quite a few graphical glitches, like shadow textures flickering and on the first lap of Catalunya all of the grandstands were missing but the spectators were still there :o

Have you installed it to HDD? If not, that sounds like a ding DVD drive to me. Same happened to me with FM2 then eventually my drive died.

This game incredible, everything is just so 'right'. I'm absolutely loving the epic 10mile+ tracks (Rally di Positano, Fujimi Kaido, and of course Nurb).

Just awesome

Can't say I've noticed any of that TBH.

i hate games coming out near xmas it means my gf then gets me them and i have to wait 2 months to play them :(
I've told the missus that she can buy me it now as an early christmas present. This usually also means come the start of December she's forgotten about it and buys something else :D

Quality husbandry++

I haven't had any graphical glitches (played about 6 hours!) but I have had the sound mess up a little bit. Changed down a gear and the sound kind of lagged and made it sound like I was still in the previous gear for about a second!

Happened a couple of times, same has happened to my mate too. No big issue really.
