***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

im hoping it is just a one off for me. grrrrrrrr

It was never fixed for me...they said they have uploaded latest software but they downgraded... Issue popped back same day I received phone back...various roms later issue was there. .

Shall I delete clockwork recovery from the phone first? And unroot it?
That have me phone with unlocked boot loader so maybe it should be fine? Its nexus afterwards lol

mine has been ok all day, seems to have issues at home, i wonder if it just has issues recovering when signal lost. did you find anything on google?

yeah I got that.....it might be a bit quicker, the autorotate is definitely better though, mine was always really sticky.

No as I haven't looked :)
Am aware of another person on xda and a friend of mine.
Possible that some phones from first batch are affected?

right i have the grey bars issues, lots of google, one thing to try is a new sim card, so gonna ask for one tomorrow in store

"It basically means that though you the phone has a signal, it is not connected to the network, this usually resolves itself in a very short time, however if it continues to be a problem with long outages, it could be a bad sim card"

The grey singal bars doesn't mean you don't have a connection to the network, it means its not connected to Google's servers.

Does this happen just on WiFi? (If so, this is a known issue in ICS, well known by lots of users, not sure about Google) Can you browse a web page? What happens when you open Google Talk?

i have read a lot and the grey bit can mean signal as well as google, people have reported both. mine was effecting both as the internet would not work but i was getting calls. i will go and get a sim card today from voda, i updated my phone to 404 and then factory reset and spent ages putting my phone back to how it was. my sim card looks very worn compared to my spare. lots on the web about it and will read more, sending off for repair seems a no goer.

i forget which one of yoy two sent there one off, but i would say if it is still doing it get a new sim, and state the reason why... if that does not work DEMAND a replacement phone from your carrier... thats what i will do. if its been sent away once and not resolved

what about if you are using phone from one carrier with sim of another ? :)

Need to go to Tmobile and request a new one...

just spoke to Tmobile, and lovely lady on the other end will send me a new sim card free of charge :)

Why they charge in shops I have no idea....o2 does it for free...
so will check with new sim card- am using micro one now...
If it doesnt help, I will try and Demand a new headset or different model from o2 as new software, as well as old one and new simcard, doesnt work...seems like some mobiles are more affected than the other ones...

is there a way to demand another mobile ?
Could that be taken under 'not fit for purpose ' ?

Just had situation when phone is showing full bars of network, but no way I could do a phone call or receive one:/

Luckily it is not happening all the time and not as often like it is with Wifi/3G…

I'm using my original o2 nexus with a voda sim. And yes if I had sent off for repair once. I would demand a replacement. I think that is a fair request. Anyway new sim seems to have fixed for me. The tech guy at voda agreeded it was a likely cause and happenes on BB phones a lot

I should get new sim next week due to easter break.
will update then.

Since the update, my phone has said there is no SIM, i had this before, though i was told it was a software issue and that restoring Android would work, and it did, until the update......
