**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Had no issues with Oreo on my pixel XL. Just RMA it if you have an issue. Google returns are fantastic.

Pah, if only it were that simple. I spent most of Friday morning onto Google via live chat and the guy I spoke to said they won't replace it as it's a software issue

What problems are you having?

Well the aforementioned Bluetooth issues are still very much present. Battery life has been erratic - I wouldn't say overall worse but it does seem to have its moments when it gets guzzled up by something. Notifications seem to be hit and miss, 50% of the time I get no WhatsApp alerts.

Pixel 2 XL on top.

Pixel 2 on Bottom.

And according to a person familiar with Google’s release plans, they’ll see a staggered rollout: October 19 for Pixel 2 and November 15 for Pixel 2 XL, both preceded by preorder periods.

Looks like we will have to wait a little while longer for the Pixel 2 XL :(. Was hoping I would have it before my holidays on October 23rd.

XL 2 looks fine to me. No silly edge display and the top and bottom bezels are perfectly fine, especially if they hold front-facing speakers.

The standard Pixel 2 does look rather ancient in comparison though.

Google's phones always look better in the flesh than in pictures too.

I purchased from CPW as well. Have you been into them about your Pixel issues? That was my next plan but I'm guessing you're going to tell me it's a waste of time :(

They are owned by Dixons and have their own mobile repair factory in place (it's just down the road from my house). We know it's software so I figured it would be a waste of time going in.
I've created yet another thread on the pixel forums. https://productforums.google.com/fo...gZAuoDmWY;context-place=forum/phone-by-google

Googles handling of this has been shocking, in fact their customer services is like most other android manufacturers.....disgusting.

This is the non original thread they locked (the first one, mine, they deleted)

As to the timing of the release of each phone, if the rumour is true, makes some sense.

Last year the original Pixels were announced also on 4 October and shipments began 20 October, one day later than the rumoured shipment date of the Pixel 2.

As we all recall, the Pixel XL was in extremely short supply for many months. So if the rumour of a 15 November delivery date is true for the Pixel 2 XL, then it means that Google has a good chance of securing enough supply to avoid disappointment, while getting a good read on demand.

However, with the iPhone X due to ship on 3 November, I would not be surprised to see Google move up the date of the Pixel 2 XL as you would, ideally, like it to be available for a direct challenge to the X.
