**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

If anyone listens to TWiT podcasts, this year and last year the hosts of their separate Android show and Apple show, who jointly host Tech News Weekly are currently swapping phones. It's interesting, the Apple user seems to be enjoying the Pixel 2 XL (well, aside the accessories like Android Wear...) more than the Android user with the iPhone X, I think because iOS is a little basic. An interesting experiment anyway.

Has anybody got a wet application screen protector on their 2xl? i'm considering the IQsheild, only prob is i cant find anywhere in the uk selling them!

I fully understand your opinion about the "complete vertical integration"/ecosystem and why you use your Pixel phone and your iPad in combination. I appreciate that you have found a great tablet from Google to be a true hole in their line-up. But then again, I see my Pixel 2 XL as a mini-tablet and with GA and voice recognition capabilities built in, I find little need for a tablet at this time.

While I agree the P2XL is like a small tablet, I definitely would not wanting to be squinting at that all night when I'm chilling on the sofa.

It is. I should get back to listening to the TWIT podcasts.

I've got the Peel case (although it is for an XL) and I've been really happy with it. Thin enough to not make the phone feel much different, but should protect it from scrapes etc.

Currently using a Peel case for my 2XL. As said above, keeps it thin and minmal, and protects the camera. But it does make it more slippery.

I used to use a Spigen Thin Fit, nice and grippy, and while its a thin case compared to the likes of the others in their lineup, rugged, tough etc, its too much for my liking.

I would go neked but the camera bump worries me.

Ringke Fusion on mine. Clear version... Not too big, screen and all sides well protected, buttons easily pushable and reasonably priced.

Has saved a couple of dives, and the phone's all safe.

I think thats what I've got. It's OK, it does protect the phone, for sure, but mine must be a friday afternoon job as it doesn't sit flat on a desk, it moves when you type resulting in it knocking off the desk, and also I find it rather uncomfortable to hold with one hand as the cut outs for the USB port dig into my hand (but to be fair, most cases will have that problem).

I was tempted by the fabric case but when I did some homework, a lot of people were returning them saying they were slippery, picked up dirt etc.

Don't mind the picking up dirt bit, got used to that with leather iPhone cases during a flipping phase a while back! Couldn't deal slippiness though, so it was a no go here too... Pity, I've got some rainforest vouchers I'm itching to burn, and they're selling the official cases it seems.

Had the Ringke cases on the last few Nexus and the Pixel 1 and just stuck with it, same with using one on the iPhone SE for work purposes.

I got the Ringke FUSION Crystal Clear from the rain forest incredible value, very good quality and small foot print. Very happy with it

I'm tempted to say yours sounds like a copy. When it came was the inside and outside covered by a plastic seal? This case is to grippy to slip and the cutouts are perfect.

Has anyone here used Xtremeskins for their Pixel 2 XL (or any other phone for that matter)? They look pretty decent and I'd be happier spending £6 for a UK based product than $20 (give or take) to have a dbrand or slickwrap shipped from the states.

Does anyone have a Pixel 2 and an Audi? I have an Audi A4 (B9) and a Pixel 2 and every now and then, the phone asks me if I would like to connect to Audi MMI xxxx. It's almost as if the phone and/or car has forgotten that they've already been paired.
