**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

No issues with the fingerprint scanner on mine but it's nowhere near as quick as the Honor 9 or Mate 10 Pro. Still decent enough though.

I've never understood why their isn't a face detection option on the android camera, its pretty basic stuff.

Forgot you have to tap the screen to focus. Think Samsung use to focus on the centre of the screen automatically where as these don't.

Much better quality now I'm tapping screen.

The camera does focus on the centre of the screen I think? I always have a circle in the centre unless I press to focus somewhere else anyway.

Not sure I like the white navigation UI with the update to chrome 64... I guess nearly all the Google apps have it now on the pixel, but much prefer the black for Chrome, less intrusive on the eye.

That's downright irritating now... such a massively jarring change. Ok Google needs to have a word with the boss about it.

As in the white navigation bar? It changes throughout the day. Sometimes it's white, sometimes black .

I believe it was to reduce burn in

Yeah, I assumed it was to do with burn in. It was always black no matter time of day for Chrome though and it's always white for system settings and certain other google apps. Maybe it'll change to black in the evening now, will have to wait and see...

White is just too stark for me in Chrome though, which I use a lot. At least the top part, (other than the address bar itself), is a slight grey. I hope they change it back!

Mine changes quite a bit. Don't have a problem with the burn in prevention though - noticed mine is suffering from it already.

I don't mind the white nav bar at the bottom but each to his/her own. Just to pull an Ok google here and completely change the topic(!) I pandafied my Just Black 2 XL this afternoon with a skin from Xtremeskins.

It is far from a professional job but I'm not the best in the world at these sort of things so I'm happy enough with it. I lined the USB port and 'G' up perfectly so I assumed that would do but the fingerprint scanner is a tad off. Ideally I would have liked a skin without the sides and corners etc as I just wanted to do the back and leave a flush edge but I didn't have the balls to cut the skin I received so I ploughed on.

All in all happy enough for £6. I also got a panel for the glass at the top but I don't intend to fit that, at least not for the moment anyway.

Looks good I would say. I think mine is dbrand and I got it without the sides, just the back.

Yeah I watched your video Andy it was very good. I thought you're on to something right up until you applied the skin on the front bezels! :p
Definitely seeing yours again there makes me want to have got without sides but ah well.
