For some bizarre reason, my stopwatch now starts if I set a timer on the clock app. Does this happen to anyone else? Seems to be recent.

Guys what's the best way to get my photos off Google photos onto my device ?

So when mine xl2 got sent in for a replacement I thought I would be fine with them being on the cloud. However I have found more and more lots of apps don't have access to the cloud and I kind of need my pics on the device.

You have to download the photos from Photos to your phone.

I don't see a bulk way of doing this sadly. If I click the 3 dots on a single picture I can down load. If I cherry pick I loose that option

Thanks mate. Need to do It per month which will take a while but better than clicking 5000 times cherry picking !

And now I've discovered that although it doesn't start the stopwatch with a timer, but I've now lost my long press functions on the clock icon on the home screen. Typical android.

Found this this describes how to do that with an app which hasn't been updated since 2014:

Just tried it and it works, so maybe if there's another most recent or maintained similar battery app could do the same thing.

See the news stories in google now, I click 'not interested in UEFA sports' for example. To me that should mean that i don't ever see any stories linked to UEFA? It constantly comes up. Same with the likes of Ronaldo for example. I do the same and I constantly get stories for him.

I have exactly the same and it's so annoying. I keep getting Eastenders and Corrie popping up because my other half looked at digital spy once apon a time and Google thinks I love soaps. I can't block Digital spy because other stuff interests me.
Plus other stuff I tap on "Not interested" keeps coming up. I think it's broke.

Exactly the same here with Digital Spy and soaps. Really annoying.

The people moaning about the screen quality, coming from a OnePlus 3 i'm going to assume this won't be something i'll notice in the slightest? Really want a phone with a good camera so the Pixel 2 XL is almost selling itself to me.

Mine did the screen flash when I pressed the power button to put the phone to sleep last night.
I have 'always on' display turned on and have done since I got the phone.
It's only done it twice and has not done it again all day. Weird, need to look at what cause's it.

Also it 7th of May and nothing about this months security patch ??
