**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Is anyone on the P beta having a problem with wifi turning back on automatically to known/saved networks?

I only have one, my home wifi and having tried everything I can think of I can't get it to turn on automatically.

Yep, mine works randomly.... Prior to the Beta, it'd switch on straight away when near a known network, now it can take up to 30 mins to switch on - if it switches on at all!

Thanks, glad it wasn't just me. I h ope it's fixed soon, I like not having to think about it. In fact, I hope they have it auto turn off in future when away from a known network for xx:xx amount of time.

When did the Pixel 2 XL get HDR support?

I've got HDR support on YouTube which boosts the brightness to max etc - looks great, though not sure my retinas think so :p

Has anyone gone back from P back to Oreo? Does it wipe your phone? I'm thinking of going back as Samsung has updated the gear plugin and it now crashes with P and won't connect to my gear s3

Everyone still using the "saturated" or "boosted" profiles on their XLs?

At the weekend I was taking some photos, including of the mrs, and she noticed she looked very red in the shots. I re-assured her that it was just the way it looked on the screen.

Anyway, having looked again at the photos, I've put it back onto "Natural", and lo and behold, as you would expect, the pictures now look completely natural.

Now when I scroll through photos on Instagram or FB, or on any article heavy in pictures, they now look more life like to me.

So I've been using saturated colours since I got it, but I'm going to give Natural a try again. Of course, no doubt when I get a new phone, that option will be taken away and I'll have to get used to it again :D but it goes to show that perhaps Google were onto something with this, and its the fact that it looks dull when compared with other phones with boosted colours that has meant people didn't like it; I guess a little like hifi where often a V / U shaped frequency curve is favoured over a more natural sound.

I'm using Boosted as natural looks a bit washed out to me (everyone's eyes are different)
I tried Saturated for the first day I got the phone and didn't like it, just had another look at it for 10 minutes and still don't like it. I think boosted is perfect for me. :)

I know what you mean, I've been using it like this now since I wrote the original post, and my feeling is that photos look spot on but the actual UI does look a bit wishy washy!

Looking into getting one of these for my wife as she needs a new phone with good camera. Am I right to say that screen in pixel 2 is better than XL, also made by Samsung so less likely to break ? Also I understand that phone comes with 2 year warranty, whats Google's warranty service like....easy to deal with them ?
Any input would be greatly appreciated

Isn't natural sRGB? I think it is.

Anyone else have issues with the home button not working on Android P on P2 XL?

Also, Assistant comes up randomly with "Did not recognise your voice".
