So what's people's thoughts on 9 ? I am finding the adaptive brightness a bit strange. It seems to be turned up high but the screen still feels a little darker than before ?
Regarding the brightness.
The brightness slider behavior slightly changed in this preview: It now changes the brightness logarithmically instead of linearly. Before this preview when it was linear, about 90% of the brightness was controlled by the lower 20% of the left of the slider. The old 50% brightness was almost identical to 100% max brightness, and the old 5% brightness was significantly brighter than 0% brightness. Now, the change in perceptual brightness is now more uniform as you increase or decrease the slider.
The brightness slider position should spend most of its time throughout the day near-max now, but that's fine. The brightness of the panel hasn't changed, just the behavior of the brightness slider, and for the better. Other OEMs have had a logarithmic brightness slider since forever, Google just only now caught up with this standard physics-based implementation.

Im not sure curved edges lend well to screen protector, i'm now thinking a flip case is a better optionCan anyone recommend a good screen protector. I tried a tempered glass one but the edges weren't great and let's lots of dust in. Which then scratches the screen!
Only way to wear the screen is naked!

Inded. I scratched my screen on my first pixel 2 XL when it feel or of my pocket when I sat down
Had to since do a warranty claim for something else and didn't want to scratch the new one.
if you use 2 fingers to swipe down it takes you straight to the quick settings and the settings shortcut.Anyone know why the settings shortcut in the notification drawer requires an extra swipe down to access? Any idea how to change it?

I don't understand I only swipe up once from anywhere on the bottom to open the app drawer ?Still can't get used to the swiping up twice to access the app drawer. Regression in my opinion. Hitting home and then swipe up was a quicker way of launching apps. BUT... they want you to use the new multitasking view (featuring the dock) instead. However, it means you can't see beyond the app to the left or the right of the one you're looking at. This is a really poor decision IMO because it forces you to scroll to discover apps you've had open.
So... overall I'm liking Pie, but the changes to the navigation just make things slower.
