**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

On my old Android, I used to use the volume keys to turn down the ringer when I got home so it wasn't as loud - It seems this is not possible on the Pixel 3, or so i though.

For the first time, I went to click the volume down button to bring up the ringer logo so I could set it to vibrate - at the same time a noti came in and when I pushed the volume down, it gave me the option to not only reduce the media volume but also the main ringer volume.

I have not since been able to replicate this - Does anyone know how?

this is an android change not pixel. it's how all latest versions of android phones will behave. takes a while to get used to but after a while you realise you never really want to change the volume, but just if it makes noise or not, so having a volume slider for the ringer is silly as media is more often what you want to change the volume for, which is now the default that changes when you click the buttons.

Guys whats a good wireless charger ? I need one on my desk at work. I see lots of eBay and Amazon for around the £15 mark. Any recommendations?

What kind of percentage is everyone using for brightness? I don't like the phone to be bright or glaring, but even so, having to have it on around 65-70%. On my old Nexus 5x, I very rarely went above about a 30% on the slider bar and it was still more than bright enough for daily use. I appreciate the technology on the screens is different, but just curious.

i found since the latest version of android, i can enable auto brightness and it gets it spot on for the most part. i used to dislike auto brightness and found manual more accurate, but now auto is quicker and simpler and goes really low unlike before. perhaps worth a try?

I also disliked auto brightness, but I will give the adaptive a try. Thanks.
Think I was more concerned that the screen was iffy. Did not expect to need the brightness so high.

Another vote for adaptive here, works flawlessly for me.

I have the Pixel stand as my wireless charging dock. I bought it second hand (BNIB) from the MM. I wouldn't pay retail but it works well for what I need it for. I don't use any of the screensaver/assistant features though, it's just for overnight charging to save faffing with cables. It does come with its own plug also, which was handy as I thought it wouldn't.

Just curious but I've noticed checking on here and checking the 2/XL forum that not many people seem to complain about this one yet the 2/XL forum seems to be littered with complaints (some of them mine).

Are these more reliable than the old 2/XL models? I'm keeping my options open but it looks like days are numbered for my 2XL, it's just annoying me now. Yet I am very reluctant to buy another Pixel after the frankly p*** poor experience I've had with it.
