**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

0 problems with mine since I've got it. 3XL.

Bluetooth works flawlessly, battery is consistent. Lag free, even when updating apps (my P1 would slow right down when doing this) any other P2 problems you'd like me to comment about regarding P3 ownership?

For balance, I've had a 2XL since release, not had much to complain about. I did get a replacement from Google back in July as the ear piece started rattling in the original one.

Neither have had any of the issues mentioned, and yes, they both had decent screens.

I'm waiting for the Pixel 4.

So with the 2xl my main problems as they stand:-

Cold charging takes an absolute age, it can take an hour before it actually starts to fast charge.

Phone is regularly awake and unlocked and quite often an app is open with random keypresses in when I remove from my pocket (I do wonder if I'm triggering finger print unlocking accidentally).

GPS is rubbish anywhere where it's built up.

I've had a lot of other problems but most seem to have been fixed with updates but the phone has been a pain to own if I'm honest.

When you say cold charging, can you describe the situation where that occurs for you? I'm not sure if you mean outside or a cold work environment.

I had the random keypress/app thing once or twice on my P1, never on the 3.

No issues with the GPS personally but I've only gone as far as using it as a sat nav, or location services for Google rewards/contributions where it's rarely wrong about where I've been.

Basically if you plug it in and it's under 20c then it charges at a rate of about 1% every 10 minutes until it gets up to temperature, this can take hours.

I've had virtually every documented fault bar the rattling speakers. Despite me liking the phone a lot when it works properly its been one of the worst phones I've ever owned.

Out of interest, have you had a replacement device?

No... majority of bugs I've had thus far have been fixed by software updates leading me to think most of it is just unfinished / unpolished software.

In fairness the phone has been better recently than it was in the first 12 months.

The charging issue is still really, really irritating. However, a quick google suggests it could be by design to save the battery. Defeats the point of fast charging though.

My 2xl used to randomly unlock in pocket. That was about it. Wife has it now and is happy

Yeah that happens too often to me. Brings back the nightmare days of my old Nokias that used to do that; in fact one time a Nokia rang my parents and left a message on the voicemail while I was out with the lads which made for an awkward conversation the next time I saw them. I am rather paranoid of a repeat performance.

Edit: The phone actually just did it again just now. Really annoying. I kind of wish I had face ID but no fingerprint as I'm sure it must be me unlocking it by accident or something, how can it do it itself?

Edit 2: clearly not exactly unheard of: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/8etlwp/does_your_phone_unlock_in_your_pocket/

My GF was actually interested in an upgrade to a 2XL from her Samsung S7 for £28 a month but sadly I have had to steer her clear of it due to the amount of issues I've had; its annoying enough dealing with one. Having to deal with 2 dodgy phones in the same household is not very appealing.

I'm looking forward to the Android 'Q' beta starting, even more so since seeing this video, I know a few of us mentioned that we would have liked the gestures to work this way from the initial implimentation. Now I just wish I would get the screen real estate underneath the pill back also.

Hi there,

First post.

I had a pixel 3 on O2. I had it for two weeks before I sent back and canceled contract as I was having issues with Bluetooth (garbled audio, disconnecting etc) a buzzing noise in background while on calls etc

I really liked the handset and would consider another, but I'm trying to get a sense of others experiences with it so far?

There seem to be lots of bugs/issues with them (posted across a number of forums).

Are these just one off etc?

Thanks in advance for any feedback or advice
Cheers

Mine does to odd flash when the screen is just on AOD. Weird. I've seen videos of peoples flashing like crazy. Mine will just do the odd one now and then.

Anyone looked at getting a replacement from google for it?
