Quite right. As I say I'm fairly sure LG did the 3 and 3XL. It's testament to how far they've come. The reviews of their own V40 have been positive with regards to the screen.
I am waiting for my local CPW to have the Pixel on display so I can compare the screens. I genuinely think my 2XL is alright, the blue shift is no worse than I noticed on any other phone but curious to see if the 3 is a genuine upgrade.

Screens are made by Samsung :/

I haven't had one either, yet, & I signed up for the marketing emails before launch too, purchased on 12th.

I got the email regarding the 75 credit as I was already receiving updates anyway, I ordered from Google Store on Saturday and haven't had any confirmation regarding the voucher yet...

Is this not a good thing, or at least not a bad thing?

Was just hoping there may have been a new competitor in the smartphone OLED world :/

The fact they're made by Samsung is a good thing in the sense it means we're getting a great display, just not in the sense they're one step closer to a monopoly.

Ah I see, fair point. As far as I recall, both Apple and Google are happy enough with LG to invest in their OLED tech - but I think at the moment LG need to ramp up volumes and prove they're reliable before they jump ship from Samsung.

From what I've heard, LG recently opened a new plant, and Apple are happy with the quality of the products being produced there.

Currently, Samsung is the sole supplier for the XS, but LG's displays recently passed Apple's QC.

Yeah I think the LG product is there, just needs time to filter through into new products. Nothing saying that either Apple or Google won't switch to LG screens later on if there's incentive to do so (i.e. cheaper).

With all Huawei
yeah its a great spec but EMUI, size, curved screen, updates, price all are all concerns. Its more than the regular Pixel 3.

Just use Nova Launcher, incidentally looking at my pre-order on O2 the cash price for the 128G Pro is only £729 ( without any deposit ) . So I'll just pay this off after I get the promos and close the account down.

I know this question was asked last year but do you get charged when you pre-order from the Google store or when the phone is shipped?

Just use Nova Launcher

I don't get why people suggest this - Nova is just a launcher. That means everything that makes a skinned version of Android bad is still there; larger resource usage, general sluggishness, different (and in some cases poorer) functionality.

Of course if it's just the launcher you don't like the look of, then it's a good recommendation :)

I disagree, there's a noticeable difference in usage, efficiency and customisation going from touchwiz, emui, miui etc to Nova launcher. None times out of 10 it's my goto launcher when using non stock android, except maybe HTC sense which I find is always nippy.

A launcher is a launcher. It is an app, it isn't going to replace nor affect the underlying modifications done by any vendor to the OS period. Therefore it isn't going to change your performance observations on any device. Adding Nova to the equation isn't going to my my S8+ any more smoother than my Nexus 6P for example. It's just a launcher.

Secondly, video has never been Google's strongpoint. The OG Pixel wasn't all that, nor was the 6P. Unlike images Google's post processing for videos I think is non-existent?
