**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

The videos I've seen (heard) do make the mic sound like trash. It sounds like really aggressive background noise reduction, so maybe something that can be resolved with software.


Glad I don't record video much/at all though :p

Starting to wonder if this phone is worth the money :confused:

Really want a Google phone for the experience, but at what cost
 
I'm in the same boat. Never owned a pixel/nexus and always wanted one. Last year the blue shift stopped me, then i thought this one would be the one. But it's becoming harder and harder to justify the cost for the spec and shortfall of some elements such as battery, microphone, ram and video for stock android and a good camera.

I'll probably keep my order, sell the phone and buy something else if not happy and keep a £12/m sim contract and most likely money in my pocket.
 
Finally got to see a 3XL in the flesh yesterday. Having watched 'notchgate' spread across the internet i was plesantly surprised at the size of area housing the front cameras, I didnt find it distracting or obtrusive at all.
 
got the pixel here, and had hoped to upgrade to the 3xl but not overly impressed with the 3xl for the price. Since my software update should take me up to the pixel 4,I just might wait, unless they have a sale and knock a few hundred pounds off it

Same here, there's damn all wrong with the 2XL (my unit anyway), I just want a new shiny :p.
I thought out of the two the Pixel 3 would be my preference over the XL but having seen them in person I'm not overly enamored with either but if I had to pick one it would be XL, the screen on the 3 is just too small for me. I could get past the notch before I could get past the small display.
All that said I'll probably end up buying a 3XL at some stage, just not right away. I waited until Black Friday last year and got a stonking deal on my 2XL. The problem this year is I would have to go SIM free as I still have 12 months left on my contract.
I'll wait until the 6T is unveiled and decide then. I'll either buy it or wait until closer to Christmas for a 3XL.

No, I don't think so. I can certainly see the appeal of it over the Pixel - for me at the moment the stock google appeal is more of a draw but on hardware alone the Mate 20 Pro (and potentially OnePlus6T) is a better proposition.

No not at all.

It has a 'livable' notch.

The hardware is fantastic. Emui i'm not so sure about & then there are the updates. Huawei are not the quickest.

Whats wrong with your Note 9? Why are you looking at another device

ok so going from ordering 3 pixels, now to cancelling them all. will wait to see what the 6T has to offer, however for the time being i can't see the reason to upgrade with what's on offer.

the 3XL is still one of my favourite, but that microphone is bad, the ram is bad, the price is bad, and the freebies with the pixel are bad, and software missing like nightvision and call screener, i feel i can wait.
