Maybe they want the exp. You get more exp per action done / card played. Not to mention the quests.
Still bad form imho. You can see your opponent is giving you the chance to finish the game, no need to show off.

Played one game today. I hate when you are down to 1 HP and give your opponent the courtesy to finish you off, and they prat around with buffing their minions and just showing off. Idiot.
And I don't care whether they have a quest that they need to deal x damage or summon certain number of minions etc. Finish the damn game off.
You could have just conceded instead of wasting your opponents time having to finish you off.
As I said earlier, that's what I ended up doing.
No it wasn't, your opponent wouldn't have had to finish you off if you just conceded on your turn once it was obvious you couldn't win.
ive made it to rank 8 in a season using a basic mage deck so my legendarys had no bearing on that.
...and to add to that I've made Legend Rank twice with decks that contained no legendaries.
Your missing the point. I gave an opponent the courtesy of finishing me off with a simple click and drag to my face.
youre basically a pro so dont count
New card looks absolutely pants. 10 mana kill all minions, summon a card for each killed.. self mill hype!

No, you didn't. You either concede so you can both get on to the next game faster, or you don't concede so he can do stuff for quests/XP. That's the etiquette. If you're wasting his time making him kill you, don't complain when he wastes yours doing it.
It's not even the legendaries but not having the basic cards - until yesterday I didn't even have azure drakes
I'll be looking forward to some tips from you and maybe you could give me some hints on improving my deck as it's quite hard looking online
Yes I did.
E.g. If you play a game of Snooker, you don't interrupt the player in his last turn, you give him the chance to clear up, even when its clear that he has won, but do so in tasteful way.
