The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

I have cairne, malygos, golden grommash (made into leeroy), nozdomo (dusted instantly) & van cleef from ~50 packs since early December. I'm massively above average but I have a very low epic count to offset this (bestial wrath.. yay...). and i forgot to DE pyro before the last reset so missed out on all that precious dust.

As Lodjik suggested, I dusted noz and made juggler*2, harvest*2, argent commander*2, finished off my imps and went rush lock for beta round 1. It's probably going to be a bit tougher now as more people have experience of it and vs those really nasty mid-range shamans you get stuck around T5 a lot.

I just can't bring myself to spend 100 gold on a pack when 150 gold will get me a pack plus entry to the Arena, which is by far the most fun game mode to play - getting tired of running into gimmick decks in ranked play

My luck is actually insane.. i don't even know how...

Anyways i'll probably start spending the gold on arena now, what are all the rewards from arena? First time i got a pack and 40g.
 
I've litterally just started playing.

Coming from a background of fast paced games (cs, cod4, street fighter and LoL) it's taken me some time to get into the way this game plays. Can't say I don't enjoy it though :D It's really fun, and tactical too. Nice break from frantic action of other games.

Haha i know, if i win ill buy you guys some packs ;)

I tried out the rogue deck i listed, i managed to get the enemy warlock down to about 20 odd hp, had a 12 12 vancleef, concealed him, Next turn i played the Leeroy, shadow step, leeroy and he died :P

was nice.

You get a guaranteed pack every time (hence why it's worth it I'd say) and then the other rewards can be either gold, dust or sometimes individual cards (sometimes gold cards too)...

The amount you get depends on how far you get in the Arena before you get defeated 3 times, so I think you get 2 rewards, 3 rewards or 5 rewards depending on the number of wins (where one of those rewards is always a pack).

I think you have to get to 5 wins (or maybe 7) to also be guaranteed your 150 gold back as a reward, allowing you to play again right away. If you're good enough you can get unlimited packs this way :D and if you can consistently get 9 - 12 wins I think you start getting a profit in gold (up to 500 or so for 12 wins even!!!)

Sounds pretty epic tbh, a lot more worth it even for the experience of using random decks and making the best out of a bad situation :)

As for that rogue deck i've been playing with, its extremelly fun, the only trouble i've had so far is people with taunt, as most decks have a taunt minion, i can just sap them back and attack or combo an eviscerate etc :)

Leeroy, Cold Blood, Charge, Shadow step, Leeroy, charge, Shadow step, Leeroy is pretty darn strong.
 
Grinding rank at the start of the month isn't for the faint hearted. Managed to slog it out to 16 in February so far. I should probably wait until the middle of the month when all the good guys are further up the ladder. :p
 
I'm pretty much on the ball with the miracle deck now, finding it a little easier to hold off early aggression and dealing with taunt minions :)

Won all my games from rank 20 0 starts to rank 18 3 stars last night.
 
Played vs a handlock last night, he must have life tapped every turn until he had like 9 cards in his hand, he played molten giant, so he had 8 cards.

I played coldlight oracle so he was at 10 cards then sapped it back into his hand and it got discarded, must have been fuming.

I had a few good games as hunter, bought a couple of unleash the hounds... As soon as your opponent has 3 or more minions on the board:

buzzard --> hounds (draw 3+ cards) --> cultmaster --> run hounds into enemies (draw another 3+ cards)

Brutal combo...Occasionally you can mix it up by throwing down a timbre wolf too so the hounds can more easily trade up, or if it's late in the game no reason you can't do the above but play 2x hounds for even more cards... Or chuck down a hyena that gets buffed like crazy

I don't usually like to rely on a specific combo coming up, but given how cheap a lot of the cards involved are here it's actually quite a flexible set to have (even if you don't end up with all the cards there are still plenty of smaller combos based around them)
 
Do the beasts get buffed from other beasts etc? :)

Leeroy would be pretty good in that situtation, give them two whelps, unleash the hounds all that charge damage that turn would be epic.

The hounds you mean? Yeah they count as beasts so you get card draw from the buzzard, buffs for the hyena when they die etc.

Leeroy would indeed be good in that situation as depending on what your opponent had on the board you would be almost guaranteed to be able to sack off the two whelps and end up keeping him alive for the next turn
