***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

No it isnt. I've used 7gb of storage on my 32gb TP and that's with both installed with apps and media on both.

it's going to take a long time before webos catches up with android on that front, that's why so many of us have been waiting for android :)

Regarding the space, I have read that Android was 7GB - I don't actually know. I know that webOS is not even 2GB.

I think webOS is superior in terms of usability as a tablet OS to Android but you are right in the fact that the support is nowhere close. I think, from what I have seen in videos, and from people that have tried the RC for 3.0.x that most of the speed problems have been sorted. Regarding the app dilemma I am not too fussed about having thousands of apps but I do agree that a few fundamental ones are still missing from webOS.

I am prepared to give webOS a chance as I really like the look and feel of it and I don't of Android but if the support is rubbish I might switch when a good release of Android is out.

I'd agree that WebOS is better than Gingerbread when comparing just the OS's, although I think Honeycomb/Ice Cream Sandwich will at least make it level,

However the number of area's that are just incomplete/unusable in WebOS due to lack of apps is silly, and that's what Android fixes, far quicker than it'll be fixed on WebOS if it ever is...

I agree, I've found WebOS is pretty slow and clunky compared to iOS, it just feels unfinished but it does have flash support which is pretty nice at times. I prefer iOS for almost everything else though, though it's not perfect...

I'm hoping that Android will be able to fix some of WebOS' little quirks, or maybe the upcoming WebOS patch.

Anyway, I'm just glad new software is coming for this device, and the option to dual boot is awesome.

Reading PDFs on the Touchpad is very poor. Pages take a while to load and more importantly, text are jagged like there is no anti-aliasing. Any workaround for this issue?

have you tried clearing the cookies from the cache?

works fine for me on ebay :)

strange, I have no such issue.

yeah, cleared them still same thing.
I may just have to pay up for the other browser. I seem to have the buggiest browser ever!
It very rarely logs into forums, to post this I've had to kick my partner off the pc. Sometimes refreshing the page works, other times I need to go to a new page.
Pages with data selection things often reset, the main culprit being autotrader.
An other major issue is the browser going to outdated pages, meaning when I get to them I have to refresh the page. But this may be due to clicking the address with the clock on it, but I thought this would be the same with any browser it just fills the rest of the address (saves typing it all out) in instead of going to a past page. If that makes sense.

And still not heard anything about my replacement touchstone!
