Wiped touchpad partitions, webos doctored to 3.0.4. Web browser is greatly improved; text renders perfectly, scrolling is much smoother,
pinch zoom works properly and double tapping text to read articles no longer allows it to bump side to side. However it still bumps around when not zoomed in.

Text entry is much better, I can input text pretty much as fast as the ipad2 now.

Whole OS runs almost as if it's tweaked and at 1.5ghz when its completely stock.

Verdict: Good work, more updates like this please.

Did you have UberKernal installed?

It didn't work for me so I just tried loading PalmKernal over the top which made it worst I've just had to use webOS Doctor to restore it back to factory defaults :(

Yup, had it installed. I can no longer select the 1.5Ghz profile though in Govnah.

When I go into preware it prompts me to update Govnah and Uberkernal, so maybe I didn't have the latest version installed? Either way I'm going to wait for the people to update the patches before I start using them again.

side note - also managed to successfully pair my HTC Desire with the Touchpad, was very easy.
 
Yes it does, although im having problems doing much other than sending text messages - routing calls seems to fail with a nondescript error and i cant load my contact list. But hey, it's a start :p
 
PreWare broken also, Govnah not applying overclock. so assume lots of stuff is defunct until update.

Edit - Rebooted and PreWare updating now but UberKernal is not compatible with 3.0.4

Sounds complicated :). I think I will just stick with CM7 for now. Even in Alpha the interface is soo much faster than 3.02 was, I just can't imagine 3.04 is fast enough for me to faff around with the device and not end up returning to Android within a day.

On 3.0.4 Removal/Reinstall the following from PreWare to get working again (as far as I can see anyway):

AdBlocker
Advanced Reset Options
Faster Card Animations
Just Charge by Default
Reduce Minimum Brightness
Remove Dropped Packet Logging
Remove Tap Ripple
Unthrottle Download Manager

Remove 3rd Party Camera Apps for Official HP one

Have not re-installed:

Increase Touch Sensitivity and Smoothness (supposedly no longer needed)
UberKernal (Not yet supported)
Unset CFQ Scheduler (Not required on Stock kernel)

Issues:

GMail still broken, supposedly being experience by others also. No fix on horizon yet? Update - Re-added via Account manager and connection appears to work okay.

Pros:

Faster and MUCHHHHH more responsive.
Syncs with my phone perfectly (Stock Gingerbread on HD2)
Music Control from Lock Screen seems more responsive, mine did not play ball and often required double taps previously.
Playing Music no longer causes freezing in other apps
Native Facebook App seems far more responsive. Used to frequently freeze when loading profile image thumbnails in message view.
