***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

Guys, any updates on a media player (any) but one which streams well would be good?

Also, some sort of network file browser (for music, copying, etc).

I use Touchplayer to player videos from my Timecapsule and Internalz to move files around.

I'm also seeing the Lite version when I sign in. Just trying something now.
Lost my Internet last night so wasn't able to reply saying what I did but I tried uninstalling Adblocker then Box before reinstalling Box. After creating a new account I had a pop up saying I qualified for the 50GB which I can't remember seeing before.

Haven't been able to verify my account limits via the website because Orange Safeguard (I was using wireless tethering) blocks Box.net as well as this site and I appear to have spelt my email address wrong :o

Might be worth trying for anyone who's on the Lite version :)

Ahh cool, but I'm looking for something which can browse my PC shares across the network

You can run IIS/Apache or other web server on your PC on the internal LAN (Can publish it outside if you wanted external access also) and browse your PC via the Web Browser and download files.

It's what I plan to do :)

There might even be a nice Web Based 'Explorer GUI Like' Flash/Java/HTML web application you could host on it for this purpose. Have a Google :D

hmm

I've got the kalemsoft trial, and it plays videos ok that i have converted using handbrake, but really not great. it loses sync on the audio quite badly.

iirc it was converted using x264, should i have used mpeg 4? (it's a .mp4 file)

Cheers

Tom.

One of the tips threads makes mention of touchplayer - has anyone tried it?

touchplayer (this video player will handle and play almost -any- video file you throw at it, regardless of file type - nice if you don't feel like converting everything into MP4's - bear in mind at the time I'm writing this the app is broken in preware - you will have to download it manually from here: http://www.precentral.net/touchplayer and install it with webOS quick install - you will also need Jason's Homebrew Javascript Framework from preware to run this, install both, reboot the touchpad, and enjoy)

Any one know of an app that managed wifi connections. My TP seems to drop connection to the network at work (enterprise) frequently and not remember it requiring me to enter my details every time.
