Merger gos ahead on 1st April altho the brands remain for 18 months.
Their systems have been timeline to "merge" from July onwards but no idea when networks will merge...

This would explain when I rang up to cancel my Orange contract they never tried to give me a better deal lol

To right just like pc never ending I think the spec of this phone is good enough .
It wont come out in the UK as the EVO. Dont even bother waiting for that.

Finding it on a 12 month contract will be tough, the only ones i can find are Vodafone where your looking at a minimum £231 for the phone and £25/m (75 mins, 250 texts, unlimited internet) upto £44 for the phone and £45/m (600 mins, unlimited text/internet)
They both have similar overall costs ~£550 ish.

You'll see a blinking power light to tell you you've got an unread notification.
Turning on the screen with the lock button will present the lock screen.
The unlock bar is a curved thingy about 1/4 of the way up the screen, the first line of the text is displayed here. I'm not sure how this changes if you have the secure unlock thingy on where you have to draw your password, I've never used that.
When you unlock it the notification will appear in the bar at the top of the screen
If it makes you feel any better I still can't log into the T-Mobile website it just says
"Your order status
Order in Progress. Your order is still being processed by our sales team. This won't take too long, so please try again in a couple of hours."
What was the form on the last page, where you sign up to the online account?
I ordered the same contract as you on Monday. I've just received an email indicating that i've signed up. I've also received a text from my credit card company stating that the money has came off my account.

Ordered mine this morning online. My bank blocked the payment though for the phone after the £2 one so T-Mobile called me to take the payment again.
Got the 'Thanks for your order' email and the website sign up email.
Also Quidco tracking £40 for the £10 p/m contract!

If you didn't fill it out at the end, you will probably have to wait until you get your T-Mobile number because if you try register the usual way it asks you for your mob number.
