*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Went in to 2 t-mobile stores today simply to see if i could play around with one as my contracts up in 3 weeks. But both stores said they were due in today but "software bugs" have kept them off the shelf for another 2 weeks.

Both stores also said that i was one of very many asking about them today, seems to be massive demand.

If it is of interest to anyone looking for a sim free Desire. I walked into CPW and bought one straight of the shelf unlocked and unbranded. I did have to buy an Orange sim and top up for an extra tenner though. That was in Glasgow. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'll search the three stores in my city centre in the morning.

aghh balls! Dunno whether to get the desire or 3GS, both are £400 sim free. What would have the better resell value if i wanted to go for the new iphone if/when that comes out end of this year?

Where you getting the 3gs sim free for so cheap?

sorry, yes as stated above it is still locked to o2, but i'm with o2 anyway, so for me both phones would be £400, plenty iphones on auction sites for £400, and the desire is that at CPW.

Is the desire still the phone to go for?

Is there any chance of me getting the desire on either 02 or vodafone for £25 (with the handset for free) I had my heart set on getting it on t-mobile but then found out there is no reception in my area.

I see this deal and think..

what's the catch? what am I missing?

No catch. Mobiles.co.uk are able to bundle any phone and contract together. Does that include internet though.

Here are the two deals that they offer for £25

http://i44.tinypic.com/1tjuvd.png

clicking 'more info' brings up a standard box of things including for internet:

"Mobile Internet - Unlimited web browsing and email access!
Browse more for less with Mobile Internet and Email Packs. For a £5 monthly fee you can surf the web and use emails as much as you like for the full duration of your contract. Also available free on select tariffs."

So I guess maybe the first offer which has no mention of internet..
(600 minutes Any Network Anytime + Unlimited Texts with Vodafone Passport)
would require me to buy some extra 'internet and email pack' from vodafone for an extra 5 pounds? but does give me quite a hefty number of texts and minutes

Whereas the second deal (75 minutes Any Network Anytime + 250 Texts with Mobile Internet and Vodafone Passport)

Gives me internet included but is a bit skimpy on the texts/calls

does that sound about right?

also. Whats the deal with " 7 months 1/2 price or £20 Auto Cashback " ?

Is there any quick way to copy the contacts from facebook and assign them to groups? like favourite, friends etc? I'm finding it near impossible.

Might have to ring my local t-mobile shop when I come home, I'm very impatient at this point. Do I wait a week? Or get it now hmm.

Linx, what you up to tonight? ....Oh really?

Well i'm going to be playing with my Desire.. in fact i'm playing with it now... How does that make you feel? :)

Considering it on T-Mob 18 months at £20 a month, paying £129 for the phone. I'm on O2 Simplicity for £20 a month now, so it would just be like a £129 upgrade.

Anybody give me the quick answer as to how quick I could get out of the Simplicity rolling deal? Am I going to have to wait 30 days before I can get a Desire?

You need to give 02 30 days notice to end your current agreement but there is nothing stopping you from getting the Desire today. If you want to keep your number then get your PAC from 02 and then get the Desire.
