*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

i could not hold out any longer reading these posts ,and ordered one myself .
£40 a month for 12 months
300 minutes unlimited texts , and internet . on vodafone
phone cost £19.99 (mobiles.co.uk)

it seemed to me like a good deal to me for 12 months .

and to those that have the desire already, do have to sync your songs to the phone like iphone or use drag and drop ?

locke thanks for the reply, I had a feeling it was notification but couldn't figure out how to get it to drop(kept gettin the drag/drop of the main clock on the home screen, eventually got it. was saying that I'd changed the sim, the guy in cpw put a 'demo' sim in there to show me).

I bought it on payg for £399.99 no discounts(well if you count the not having to buy the £10 topup or getting a new payg sim as he 'upgraded' my current orange payg. hope that hasn't screwed up my current payg sim as it has like £5 left on it). the guy said they have a 14day return policy(normally it's refund on the phone but loose the £10 topup, but as I didn't need to pay for the topup I'm ok), I thought they didn't do it on payg phones so should I take it back and ask for a sealed one(if I do will I be able to get on the android market or will it say that my account is associated on another handset?)? also is the insurance worth it(£6.99/month if I remember)?

for the weather menu/settings isn't giving me option to change default city.

with the mail I was trying to set it in the popmail not googlemail itself, didn't inc the pop./smtp. infront of the googlemail.com but when I did it worked. showing no new emails tho for whatever reason.

is wavesecure worth getting(free if you reg by 31st march apperently)?

the case I have for the touch hd doesn't fully work, 'the ear piece' is a little too high for the slot(they really should have had it where they have htc written on it) and the phone is loose in the case so falls out if I tilt the case. going to order the screen protector for it(officical htc ones are £8 from htc but £5 from our fav store beigining with p, little cheaper(£3.50) elsewhere but think you then need to add p&p :) ), need to get a car charger as well, I have a couple but they're mini not micro usb.

fowler was the plasic sticky seal still on it? They didn't know they had them in until I rang to check this morning and the cheeky ********* had it out to have a nosey before I got down there a few hours later. The worst I could think was they opened it upside down and the phone dropped out, but there was no skuffs or anything on it apart from finger smudges over the plastic sticky seal on it, so I just took it.

Made sure to get the insurance though.

got mine today too. Had to go to three differenct CPW shops before I got someone willing to sell me one though

1st shop wouldnt sell me one - said they were only available on contract - i said it says on the website £399 + £10 orange, he said that was only an online deal which got delivered to the shops. In other words he wass a **** who wanted the commision from contract sales

2nd CPW shop didnt have any, even though online said they did.

3rd one only had 1 in stock and I got it :)

The phone is amazingly quick. Browsing over 'H' is as fast as a normal PC.

A proper upgrade from my HTC Hero

Only rubbish thing is the camera, hope future updates help with it.

I bought one today from CPW. Although i did phone a different branch and they said it gets released tomorrow, but hey, im playing with it now!

Anyway, is there a way to sync my emails that are on my PC to the Desire and visa vesa? What is Exchange sync?

slyman the guy took the plastic seal off, thats why there was fingerprints on it(I have a feeling it might have been the one the staff had a play around with, no visible scratches or anything that I can see on it).

I just downloaded shazam, now need to look for a program to play auido books(mp3 format) from what I've read the default player isn't upto much.

Sorted myself out an upgrade trough T-Mobile for one of these handsets today.

18 months with 300 mins + 300 texts + Unlimited internet + Unlimited booster (I took calls to landlines as this suits my needs) and the phone for FREE! All for only £15 pm.

Lady I spoke to was very helpful and advised that there maybe a small lead time for the handset being delivered but should be with me by the end of next week at the latest which I am happy with as I need to back up all the rubbish I have on my current phone.

I really hope this phone is as good as people are saying on these forums and others as I don't want to regret not waiting for the new Jesus phone.:p

Could anybody who knows about this kind of thing, please answer my questions here

I obviously need internet but I'm unsure as to what kind of limits mobiles.co.uk place on their deals

I'm thinking of going for the bottom deal in this picture as it mentions mobile internet in the deal.

but as I say I'm unsure about just what is included internet wise

any ideas?
thanks

call and ask? i am pretty sure its 500mb browsing, which is the norm.

i'd also go for 7 months half price, as that works out more ££

Did you phone them or they phone you ?

My current T-Mobile contract (£35/m) is due for an upgrade on the 5th. Should i call them or wait for them to contact me.

Well I actually called the customer services to sort out an issue with my bill and they advised that my upgrade was due. Patched me through to some lady in customer retentions... told her what I wanted and then she called me backj with the deal.

hmm as I feared I've been fed mis-information by the guy who sold me the phone(at least acording to the cpw website), according to the website you can't return/exchange payg phones on orange if bought instore but the guy told me I had 14days(I ask him to clarify it several times, initially he told me you loose the topup(so £10) but get the refund on the phone. but then as I mentioned I had an orange payg he said I could get an 'upgrade' so didn't have to pay the £10 andI could just return the phone for a refund. damn just remembered I had like a £1 in my new phone 'pot', you get 10% of your topup value added to that 'pot' each time you topup. can then use that when you get a new phone. but might only be through orange direct not cpw etc.

I'm hoping not to return it, but you never know over the next 2 weeks I might change my mind.

going to have a play around on the android market looking for free apps and games, depending on if they're worth it might get paid for as well. which of the task/'appkillers' is the best?

Well I managed to upgrade early yesterday and collected my desire from cpw on Oxford Street. The guy in the t mobile store across the road said the top 50 stores should be getting stock by the weekend. One cpw were reluctant to hand it out as an upgrade but a short walk down to another branch posed no issuues.

This is my first touchscreen phone having upgraded from an E71 and I'm finding it a pleasant experience. This message is also posted from it :)

To anyone like me waiting on Orange's deals, I've just noticed they've added mobile internet allowances to some of their £25 contracts, whereas before you had to go for a £35 contract.

Just got to wait for Orange to stock the phone now.
