Any chance some of you guys who are trying different ROM's etc can show us screen shots of the phone and its UI, how it looks etc?.
Would be interested to see a few different examples of the changes.

Open Desire v2.2a (FroYo) with blackbar, super circle battery and launcher pro.
you can make most of the roms look exactly the same, when i had pays sparta installed it looked pretty much identical but was android 2.1.
i hate HTC Sense so only use vanilla roms.

Ok, I want that wallpaper. How do you get the shadows under the launcher icons or is that actually part of the wallpaper?
the shadows are just part of the dock background.
i've already uploaded the wallpaper & dock background in the desktop thread, enjoy

I prefer the look of stock android over sense but simply cant get away without the htc dialer unfortunately just makes things so simple, and have yet to find a suitable alternative
I'm considering a desire, it will be my first smart/touch phone so I have a few questions.
How does it compare to say an iPod for music? Assuming I get a decent size SD card for it.
Are those screen cover, protecting film things worth using? And if so does it make the touch screen less responsive? I'm just thinking of protecting it as much as I can as it's quite a pricy bit of kit.
I'm also wondering how much internet usage is enough when considering a pay monthly plan, orange are offering 500mb a month, but I'm not sure if that is much for a phone or not really. I know O2 are offering 'unlimited' data, but apparently that's just an offer lasting until the end of September, then it changes, and they also offer wifi hot spots, but I don't really know how much coverage they have and stuff. Any info on this and suggestions for any network would be helpful
Since buying my desire, getting a 16gig card and installing Doubletwist player I've not used my iPod once(which will likely wing its way onto ebay) - sound quality wise its as good as an ipod but not as good as my old Creative Zen.
never seen a reason to buy a screen protector since i have a leather pouch
500mb has always been enough for me though I dont use it for video streaming - just email / browsing / app downloading
