really thinking of getting this phone now, anyone recommend a £25 a month contract- unlimited text is the main thing i need.
seen a few £25 deals but all on sites i've never used/ heard of.
be getting it next week so will be good if anyone knows a good deal from a good place.

They honor them as far as I'm aware, you have to claim it back after you've paid or something like that.

Maybe someone else on here has actually tried it :)
 
Anyone else getting a security warning when the default Android browser starts up and tries to open Google? I've been getting it for a couple of days now.

What SetCPU profile settings are people using?

I've decided to cut mine down now to test after installing the 1267MHz OC SVS kernel in DeFrost since taking a break away from any OC kernels for a while.

Am using:

Seems to be a logical setup no? Low cpu priority and clock range when screen is off and slightly higher max clock when battery less than 20% so not sluggish and still usable.
 
Decided to go ahead and update my Orange phone to Defrost 2.4 yesterday so I purchased an unlock code from ebay so it would carry on working after the radio was updated.

Turns out it never even asked for an unlock code once and just carried on working anyway! I thought that updating an Orange handset with the newer radio meant that it would lock itself out ?
 
If you used the unlock code before you flashed the radio then you was already sorted.

If you aint used the unlock code at all are you sure you have done the rom AND the radio?

I've been tempted on numerous occasions but the (what looks like a) huge faff involved in creating a Gold Card puts me off, as I'm not sure whether it's actually going to gain me anything! My Desire with its stock Orange ROM performs beautifully and does all I could want the phone to do..

I've had enough bad experiences with dodgy ROMs on WinMo devices to not really want to screw my Desire up tbh!

You don't need a gold card with unrEVOked Howard, people have rooted via it on Tmobile branded handsets etc without a goldcard.
 
Quick question,
How do you copy/paste phone numbers into the HTC dialer? Or is there an app to phone the selected text as an extra option?

So impressed with the battery life on open desire. Now 21hrs in with 30% battery left - its the first time I've not had to put my phone on charge over night. May have something to do with the fact I've turned off facebook and twitter updates though.

I've not used the phone heavily but I've made a fair few calls/texts, and a bit of light browsing.

DeFrost also has good battery usage :)
 
I actually used it quite a bit (for me at least), ~2 hours of mp3s, plenty of browsing, a LOT of txts, emails and about 30 mins on the phone.
