It'll do one of two things I reckon...

Make the system and iTunes think that you Desire is an iPod, so that iTunes can sync with it.

Or, it will just read the library XML file and use the sync software to transfer the songs across using the data in that XML file.

I reckon it's the latter of the two personally. Remember all the problems the Palm Pre had with iTunes constantly rolling out new software to prevent that from happening? Unless Apple have changed tactics recently? Which I doubt they have...

Been reading reports that it will appear properly like an Apple device in iTunes when you plug it in, so that it can sync like normal, except it will be a HTC Desire

Anyway, OpenDesire 3.0.1 is win. I also am using Pinkolin's blackbar mod with Cyanogen settings and now have 360 rotation y0!

Is that just the standard launcher in OpenDesire Khaaan? Looks well nice .

Just using DeFrost at the moment, don't think many come close to it, but not given OpenDesire a chance yet.

is adfree working for you on OD 3.0.1? i think Adam might have messed up the hosts file like he did on one of the older builds.

i've lived with the white bar for a day, i think i'll go back to a black one now, the super circle battery is working on the B&W bar

unfortunately not the standard black bar yet.

ive seen a rom before with text at the bottom rather than icons, are you just using custom icons with launcher pro? Looks smart

Yeah peeps, custom icons are being used with LauncherPro 2nd dock is a smartshortcuts menu with cam apps menu window, media menu window etc.

Right so I switched my Orange image to a stock one. That's all I want out of it really.

To do this, I followed the steps at the bottom of the first link below (how to unroot your HTC Desire to stock), which included setting up a gold card, which is the second link below. The third link is the list of official, untouched images (I used RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U _4.05.00.11_release_121865, apparently there's a problem with locked orange phones and you should use a 1.15 rom like this one and not a newer 1.21 or you'll lose the ability to make calls). It was really easy.

I used the 1.21 version and I'm still ok but I did unlock mine when I first got it as I'm using an Orange handset on o2. I read that if you used the 1.21 version on Orange you would have to unlock it to use it.

Will be interesting to see what happens with this next update, as it could also cause problems. As far as your phone is concerned it isn't up to date, will it go straight to Froyo or will it require 1.21 as an intermediary step and therefore causing problems.

Yep, that's my understanding too .... there were several posts on this, in this massive thread, when 1.21 came out. There were also other issues that if you tried to apply 1.21 OTA and didn't have a goldcard in your phone at the time you then completely lost wifi.

Yep, I'm certainly not going to apply it straight away until there's reports on whether it works or not or whether any hoops have to be jumped through.
