Orange App Shop is pants, you download apps via Android Market, sign into Google via the phone (settings > accounts/sync) and then Market will be usable.
To enable Data you need to just make sure data is ticked (Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Mobile Network tickbox) -you'll only be able to use mobile data if you've got a data package on your tariff which you should have anyway and if your APN settings are correct (which they should be by default).

Under APN's theres a "Orange Internet" with a white circle next to it that goes green if I press it. Should it be green?

When I turn on "Mobile Network" now it says failed due to incorrect APN setting. When I turn the APN back to default it just says connection failed
