Anyone know of a straight forward guide to root and install DeFrost on a unbraded desire that is already running android 2.2?

If you've installed the official froyo (2.2) update then it isn't going to be straightforward I'm afraid as you will have to downgrade your bootloader before you can even start the rooting process.

Head over to the desire section on XDA developers and read the very lengthy threads on this, but don't expect things to be straightforward (i.e. just clicking a few buttons)

Ok I'm confused. I downloaded my bb framework but the notification bar is still white. If I mod it in the cyno settings to black, the number in the battery circle is black so ate dome of the icons in the notification bar. How do I fix this

You wanted the stock bar though, and the stock bar!

If you want black bar then you need to install the BW named framework zip and then adjust colours in Cyan Settings for fonts and items.

Right then, been trying to get mine sim unlocked, everywhere I try they say they cannot supply the unlock code the device is not on the database.
Anyone had any success with a recent one being unlocked ok?

Hey I bought a couple of apps from the market which were say $0.99 but I seem to have been charged a £1.50 surcharge for each app? Why is this?

I'm with HBOS.

It's because you've been charged in $ so you're banks charged you an conversion fee. Nothing you can do about it unfortunately.

Curse you!

I can't decide which one I like most :D

:D

looks like OD 3.6 will be out sometime tonight, so i'll remake them with the new framework in the morning if i get a quiet hour at work.

3.6 changelog said:
Updated apps/framework/kernel

Removed Facebook/Twitter (both can be downloaded from the market)

Reverted OC to 1305mhz (most phones can handle this and I would rather concentrate on making the rom more stable than just trying for performance gains)

(NOTE: for those that tried the pre-release that was available, I listened to everyones comments and removed all additions, OD is back to stock and 100% source compiled and will remain this way.)

(NOTE 2: OpenDesire/CyanogenMod/DeFroST all use the same framework base, each ROM is individual, OD is the cleanest of the 3 and contains the least *extras/additionals/junk* in my opinion.)

To save everyone from another lame troll war I'm not listing fixes/updates for 3.6 due to claims of ownership, Android is licensed under the Apache license and is opensource and nobody owns anything in my opinion, below is a quote from the Apache License wikipedia page, interpret it however you wish.

"Like any free software license, the Apache License allows the user of the software the freedom to use the software for any purpose, to distribute it, to modify it, and to distribute modified versions of the software, under the terms of the license."
