*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Took my original HTC battery out to put a spare in tonight and, There was some 'liquid' in the battery compartment.

I'm thinking it can only be a leaking battery, Does anyone know anything about these types of batteries ?

I'm not going to charge it, I have two spare.

Another issue, Running Open Desire 4, Can't send MMS on O2 PAYANDGO, Tried a few things like setting APN type to mms, Selecting postpay - prepay ect, It won't send :(

Anyone on OD 4 with working MMS ?

I had a similar problem, I just couldn't get it to go down the correct APN no matter what I tried. It always seemed to default to wap.o2.co.uk for MMS unless I removed that entry totally (I snooped the traffic to observe this). Of course then I could send MMS but my wap wasn't working. In the end I installed LeeDroid and this fixed the issue, I think there is something buggy with the 'APN type' field as setting this to 'mms' for the mms APN entry should send all that traffic down there but it doesn't seem to with some ROMs.

Yep, I gave up, I'll try the WAP setting again, Just out of curiosity.

ROM specific you think ? Ah well.

Cheers anyway fella ! :)

Just a heads up, Running OD with the 'built in' APN's for O2, No way could i receive MMS, No matter what i done.

However, I found an APN backup .xml from way back. Restored it and all is well, Suddenly my MMS that was sitting in my inbox immediately downloaded.

If anyone else has this issue or, Wants the APN.xml (Created by APN Backup and Restore) i can upload it somewhere. It actually has 600 + entries, I guess it might sort out some issues for people using different carriers on OD.

On another note, My issue with the original HTC battery (Possibly leaking), Is there anyone based in the UK i could contact ? I got the Desire from O2 using someone else's contract details, Would i need to contact O2 first ?

OK guys, DeFrost 3.5b

Does it need the radio update? And if so, is it possible to revert back to the original at a later stage?

Yes, any ROM offering 720p recording needs the new Radio, and yes you can flash the old radio back by downloading the current radio you have from the thread that AdamG keeps with an index of all the radios.

Why are you flashing DeFrost? It doesn't have Sense and therefore lacks features vs Sense ROMs.

If you could upload the file that would be great. Can't get mms to work on my desire and its driving me crazy!

Ah ok but with the mods on Defrost it doesn't look a great deal different, even the keyboard is the same, once I found out how to switch to it :p

It's not about the looks, it's about the features.

The contacts application, the email client, the phone dialer, the widgets are all better in Sense than stock Android (even the modded CY frame work versions, such as DeFrost).

Not just in looks, but in features too.

The phone dialer on stock Android looks ridiculous, looks like it's been made in paint!

Stock Android vs iPhone, the iPhone would be my choice any day of the week. Thankfully HTC Sense makes the Desire UI experience as good as the iPhones.

I hope that works, My first Dropbox link :D

Download APN Backup and Restore

chart

Create a folder at the root of your SD card named:

ApnBackupRestore

Just pop that .xml file in there and hopefully it should be working as it should.

It's probably wise to 'backup' your current APN's just in case mate.
