Thanks for that, I'll look into MyBackup Pro. Any idea if it will restore backups from the stock app into Handcent?

Messages are unified in Android, if you use stock messaging app or Handcent it doesn't matter, backup and restore messages via MyBackup pro and your messages will show up in any messaging app because apps like Handcent show you messages from the default message store in Android and not in their own special inbox which is a great feature all in itself because you can use multiple messaging apps to see which you like best at the same time.

Hmm I've reached the conclusion that my phone isn't rooted.

After running unrevoked3, it says Done!, reboots the phone and the original screen comes back up. Last time it rebooted it had the Clockwork Recovery screen.

Darn you for making me buy apps. :o

My Backup Pro in the basket.....

:D

I'd like to upgrade to the latest Leedroid (or try another ROM). I've got my phone set-up perfectly except that I have no spare SD card, and no EXT partition on it for A2SD+ use.

So i'd like to retain all my apps, contacts, messages, set-up configs etc etc, upgrade ROM, wipe and restore SD card (but with new EXT partition) and then restore my apps and settings and messages etc as they were.

I have rooted with unrevoked, have TI Backup and have just purchased My Backup Pro, so was wondering if anyone (looking at you Khaaan! :D ) can give me a concise set of instructions for how to achieve what I want? I'd be happy on Leedroid 1.9a but I can't install any further OTA updates it seems.......

Thanks

It is agreat app :D

Just be wary of restoring some system settings if you ROM hop, a few ROMs use different versions of system apps that don't share common settings so could FC once data is restored for those apps!

As mentioned though, MBP is only used on my phone to backup SMS/MMS mainly and call log data :p

SMS Backup is used (free) to send all messages to a Gmail label so that I can view messages in there at any date should I want to wipe out messages off the phone :p

Cool thanks. And the SD partitioning???

I'm thinking:

Run TI backup and then My Backup Pro to back up apps and settings and messages etc. Then:

1) Turn off phone completely.
2) Copy SD contents to PC
3) Format SD card with one EXT partiition (512mb) and rest fat32 using gparted live CD

Then what? Q. What data should I restore to the SD Card????

4) I'm thinking either all of it or just the TI backup, My Backup Pro, Nandroid backup and system folders. Then copy the Leedroid Rom to the root folder.

5) turn on phone in recovery mode and then begin upgrade to Leedroid 2.2

Is that about right??

Thanks
